@happilyretiredgirl .   Thank you for your reply.  It appears maybe the time frame I'm experiencing is the "norm".  That makes me feel a little better knowing that it's not just me.

Wow I had not heard of any of this.  I was automatically enrolled when I turned 65 because I was collecting hubby's SS.  He had passed away 1 year before I turned 65.  At least I didn't have that mess to deal with.
