Happy to read your thread/post. Regardless of one's belief, with Optimism, there is hope. Believing in a higher power, and with Optimism, I am still here today, and hopefully see many more tomorrow's. Why I am still here will always be a mystery here on earth.

I can guess/surmise till the end of my days, but I deep down know there is a reason. Have twice "seen THE light", but not completely sure what it meant. For whatever reason I am as healthy and physically and mentally fit as I was in my 40's, just turned 79 this month.

Whatever your challenges, belief in yourself and that higher power, is most of what everyone needs during the most trying times of their lives.

This is great. DS is far from home taking some summer classes and working at his college. He called me a little while ago to tell me one of his friends took his own life. Same story we always hear - this young man "seemed" to have everything going for him. He just received his master's degree last month and was moving to a new city to work at the end of the month. He was well-liked.

I told DS to call me any time day or night if he wanted to talk about it. He said he'll be OK and he is with his group of friends tonight. This has happened many times on his campus. This is the first time he has known the student. My heart is breaking for this young man's parents and his college friends, including my son.
