Welcome Friends and Visitors to the Birds Nest

Among the trees is a bird's nest,

and in the nest her three eggs rest,

and in each egg, Hush, you'll be heard!

There lies asleep A tiny bird.

SavannahOwls on Twitter: "19:30, 2/29 Owlets, waiting for Mom's return #savannahowls https://t.co/QfbQFfamDi":

Two baby Great Horned Owlets.  Mama was off nest and the nestcams caught the owlets at last.  Papa Owl has been great at hunting rats and putting them near the nest so Mama goes to get them and keeps them in the nest. There were 3 rats last time I checked the nestcam.

Just checked the nestcam once more before shutting down for the night and there are now 4 rats.  She fed the babies one of the others earlier this evening.

Below,  something got too close to the nest and they captured this glaring photo of Mama.

I love the facial expression on the mother owl.  To me it says, if you wake my kids up, you will not live to regret it.

Thank you for this lovely post @Bird mama!  Lilly of the valley are my favorites; I have never seen swallows up close & these are just beautiful.

we had 3 red wing blackbirds fly in today & they are our first sign of spring!  Yay!

A VERY RARE PICTURE of a NESTING HUMMINGBIRD Hummingbird ~ Miks' Pics "Fowl Feathered Friends V" board http://www.pinterest.com/msmgish/fowl-feathered-friends-v/:

Thanks,  Bernie, for the new perch for March and for moving my posts over here.   I never thought about it being a 'new' month and a new nest.

Cardinals were very busy here today along with the female goldfinch and the others.   Yesterday afternoon I was out filling the bird feeder and the birdbath and thought I heard a Robin.   I have never seen a Robin here in the Tampa area, not that they're not here,  I don't know about that, but I did hear several of the calls they make, but couldn't see it.  I think it was in the neighbor's yard and they have citrus, palms and oaks.  I don't know if it was a migrating Robin or not.

We have Robins at home that now 'winter' there,  especially at the Missouri Botanical Garden in the south part of the city.   Lots of berry bearing trees there and warm buildings that shelter many of the plants.  We even have them come to our yards in North County during the Winter.  Hardy birds.  Some of the feeds I use have dried  fruit in the mix and if I see the Robins close by,  I'll dig some of the fruit our and toss it their way.  That's what I used to do for my "Raisin Robins".   They came to get their raisins every day and got quite close to me while I was tossing raisins their way.   Miss those guys.  Heart
