Our mail delivery gets later and later every day. I realize that today’s is the day after a holiday weekend but here it is 6:30 pm and my mail is nowhere in site. This is horrible and gets worse every week. We don’t have locking mailboxes so now it will sit (assuming it ever gets here) three houses down until morning because I am recovering from knee surgery and can’t keep walking down the street and my husband has to go to bed so he can get up very early. If the mail is this late now I can only imagine when Christmas shopping hits it’s peak.

My mail deliver today was very late - later than it has ever been.  It arrived around 7:00 pm.  It was dark, when it finally came.  I kept going out to the mailbox several times, and it was very frustrating to find it empty. Our boxes are also unsecured.

I called the local post office, but got a messge that the post office was closed.  I called the USPS main office number, and was told the wait time was 35-40 minutes. Grrrrrr

9:08 PM. Ours isn’t here yet!

Ours is always really late on Monday’s and you add the Saturday holiday and who knows when it will get here.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

My DH and I were watching our GS this evening and when we were leaving to come home we seen the mail truck just coming. That was about 7:30pm central time. Their mail is usually delievered by 2:30pm. That's crazy. Like someone here stated, what's it going to be like during the holiday rush?

I feel for the mail carriers who now have the extra burden of all the UPS deliveries.  Its a real struggle for my petite carrier to get my big boxes of dog food up the driveway to my front door.  I wonder how many experienced people they've lost or will lose?

Re: Mail delivery

[ Edited ]

I plan on calling my local post office tomorrow and find out why I have had no mail for three different days in the last week.  It doesn't make sense and I know something is wrong.  Hopefully, I can get through to the  manager.

Update:  I called my local post ofc. and learned that I have been getting my mail; however, it arrives after 6:30 p.m.  So I just picked up my mail from yesterday's delivery.  "It will be late from now on."

The postal workers are being overwhelmed by all the packages UPS is dumping on them to deliver....add that to the everyday mail they are responsible to deliver to every home in the United States & I have no idea how they are going to keep up. USPS & UPS is an odd pairing & recently I heard they are delivering FedEx packages too, hope that isn't true.

We have a friend who works for the USPS and he says when another Carrier takes the day off....Others have to pick up the slack.....sometimes several Carriers do the guts route to get it done.....
