It appears PBR (Professional Bull Riding) has moved to that channel, so I watch it for that.  They currently get more coverage than CBSSN was giving them.

I record any of his new shows that are on in the evening. He's not advising or counseling people anymore. He is tackling very interesting, current events that are happening now. He's gone to the boarder and talked with people who are there. He went to Israel. He went to a university while the protesters were there. He's talking to parents about internet problems and how their children have been affected. He's hitting it all. I think with his older age he's become reflective about the state of our world---and I'm with him on this.

@Teddie   I watched a few of his highly-promoted interviews and enjoyed each one because he asked questions that others refrained from asking.

I assumed he was on vacation for the summer so I haven't watched.  However, I will surely watch again in the Fall.

Quite agree, @pdlinda .  I've enjoyed each one and I'm guessing he'll pick back up more regularly in the Fall.

@Shanus I have watched many of DS's youtube videos in the past and finally had enough of her. She seems to me to be such an attention seeker. I don't think Merit Street has anything to offer me so won't be tuning in.

Has anyone seen Merit Street... Dr.Phil's channel?

During the olympics and political chaos, I gave it a "look see". One of my YouTube favorites Dominique Sachse is the anchor on the morning news show.

I'm watching every now and then. It has a long way to go to be NBC or CBS morning news.

From what I understood from their hour-long preview of their channel before it launched, they don't want to be like any of the networks. They just want to give the news and let you decide what to think about it. They may have opinion shows, but their news, as I understood it from what Phil said, is to be straightforward. Just the facts.

Personally, I like their channel. It is still in its first year of launching and they keep adding new programming. I look forward to seeing what else they decide to add.

@World Traveler   I didn't like Magnolia Network when they started either. Then "The Lost Kitchen" (one of my favorites) came on and I wouldn't miss it. There was another cooking show with a male chef who had an accident that claimed one arm and I was fascinated watching him cook using his prosthetic arm to cut, chop, open cans, etc. I skip all shows with Chip. I think he's obnoxious IMO.

I'm not promoting Merit, but just offering an opportunity to see some new and differrent programming. I don't have anything against Dr. Phil personally, but his other shows were beginning to sound like Maury and stopped watching. I will give his Merit Street a chance. I can pick and choose shows.

@Shanus I watched Magnolia Network when it launched.  They had a few original shows that I really liked.  One was a "workshop" type show with different segments on various subjects where they taught you how to do/make things.  Joanna had a cooking competition show that I thought was moderately good(not great).  Then, they had a show that I loved with a chef, Katie Button, where she delved into the sourcing and production of certain cooking ingredients like flour, vinegar, yogurt, wheat and others that I found to be EXCELLENT!  Also, I LOVED the show:  "From Ranch to Table", from San Jacinto, CA, where the hostess, Elizabeth (last name escapes me) showcased ranch life and cooking with ingredients she grew.

Alas, ALL THOSE SHOWS are gone!  I understand that they may be on summer hiatus but I thought they might show re-runs.

Like I said earlier, I'm recording Dr. Phil Primetime, just new and not repeats. I meant to share what the subjects were this week but forgot. Tonight's subject (at 7:00pm Central) says this: "Dr. Phil discusses the impact advancements in technology are having on schools across the nation."

He usually has guests to add to the conversation. It's been a varied range of topics and most have been interesting, which are good for my mind. And by the way, I'm not some huge fan of his.

I watched a Dominique Sachse YouTube video last night.  I was surprised that she has remarried.

I've got 5 recorded I haven't watched yet.

Last night (8/15) was: "America's drug shortage is impacting millions of lives and threatening the US 's national security."

Each one is timely for the events we're going through now.
