@Citrine1 wrote:Masks are still required where I live. I've yet to go to a store that doesn't have a sign telling you to wear a mask. And don't be fooled thinking you are safe just because you are fully vaccinated. I'm vaccinated and just tested positive, having picked up the virus from a family member. Sigh.
@Citrine1, do you have any symptoms? If so, I hope feel better very soon. Most "breakthrough" cases are asymptomatic or quite mild.

@Shanus wrote:I was shocked since NC dropped the mask mandate awhile ago and how do we/they know who's vaccinated or not? It may come to carrying a card of proof to be allowed even in stores not masked.
If someone is not vaccinated and chooses to not wear a mask, not my problem. What IS my issue is that it is making it necessary for me to remain masked in some areas.
I have spoken to ladies that, although they had their last shot months ago, prefer to remain masked. They say they just feel more safe.
Most people I see, everywhere, are unmasked.

That is your opinion.

I live in NC but our city still has a mask ordinance.

If you are vaccinated, then those who aren't are no threat to you anyway. If wearing a mask makes you feel more secure, then continue wearing one. But they are not necessary anymore, if they ever even were. Social distancing, frequent hand washing, and avoiding crowds are much more effective in avoiding any contagious illness than those germ-laden masks.
@Buffalogal47 That's absolutely wrong, they are still necessary and mandatory for those NOT vaccinated. Sadly you are confusing your opinion with the facts.

This is a discussion and everyone can say what they believe. This constant attack and picking apart peoples post is ridiculous. It is like Middle school here some days.

@ALRATIBA I too wear over the ear hearing aids and I lost one due to my mask acting like a slingshot and sent my left one somewhere in the parking lot (never found it) so $400 later I am quite glad to not have to wear a mask as much. I was constantly getting them tangled with the strings. The struggle is real and then like you said add sunglasses, glasses (readers) etc...I would wind up with a hot mess.

Not necessarily just an opinion. Whose Expertise you choose to believe is a factor. I personally go with the 95% effective fact representatives, and with states that did not close down, with statistics as good as or better, than those that did full lock downs. Masks? Take your pick on which of his statements were fact based, no mask/need mask/wear 2 masks.
Not my opinion, based on facts I follow. Some have an opinion that others here are stating "only their opinion", when in fact what they say and believe are proven to be factual. Again, back to what facts one chooses to follow.
I can back this with facts I believe are accurate.

@Lipstickdiva They are also leaving out those millions and millions who have had it and have the antibodies which studies are now showing lasts even longer than the shots for protection. No one mentions them. It's always vaccinated or not. So the whole "un-masked, vaccinated, masked un-vacinated, thing is even more pointless. It's now just come down to, if you feel more comfortable continue to wear it, if not then go maskless. And businesses in most places are free of a "mandate" and can just decide for themselves to ask masks be worn or just leave it up to the people coming in. I understand that this is uncomfortable for some who truly cannot and will not ever go without one but it is the point we have reached.

@Imaoldhippie. That's not correct. Someone posted on another thread here last night that she and her husband just got Covid, they're not vaccinated and haven't been wearing masks. If you're NOT vaccinated, masks are the only thing that will protect you if you're exposed.
