@1Snickers , I am so saddened about Cora. I understand how difficult letting go is. I will be thinking of your son, you, and your granddaughter,  along with Snickers.

  This morning we had sad news about my Son's dog, Cora. The test showed she had throat cancer so she had to be put to sleep. It was hard to eat . 
   I was at another appointment when asked if I wanted to tell her goodbye. I told him that I had told her goodbye Sunday night when I kissed her big nose for the last time. She could still eat and we had walks and she  still enjoyed being a dog.
   She was at least 13 and had been a rescue from my older granddaughter who got her from a friend. We don't know her whole story but her last years have been helping my son at his store. Lying with the door open watching for the UPS truck with a treat. We will miss her. 

   I have to take my granddaughter to dance soon so will stop crying so I can drive. Snickers knows something is wrong. I think she did last week when sniffing her blanket and looking at me.

@AnikaBrodie , I received my rollator today and will look forward to walking with it on the walking trail with a new dog soon.  Thanks for sharing how much one has helped your DH.

Have yet to try it out and find my forever companion.

The loss of a beloved pet is traumatic whenever it happens.  My sincere sympathy is with your son and granddaughter and you as you grieve Cora's loss.  All of us who have lost a pet, dog or cat, know the heartache of losing a wonderful companion that was so dear to us.  Our prayers are with you all as you recall the cherished memories Cora leaves with you as she enters the rainbow bridge.
