Does anyone here know of anyone who has had Lupron after having prostate removed due to cancer?

My sweetheart has just begun this therapy with radiation and is having some nasty difr affects including all of his body aching. Oncologist said thiese are some of the side affects and nothing can be done.

He has to stay on this therapy for 2 years. My heart is breaking to see him so uncomfortable and in pain.

Re: Lupron for Prostate cancer

My Son had prostate cancer, researched online and went to Philadelphia

to have Protron treatments never had his prostate removed and is doing

very well. I know that maybe the Dr. should have been honest with your SH

of the after effects of the removal of his Prostate.

Hopefully there is another Dr. that he can find to offer him different

alternatives.  Go online to find out more.    Hope that helps some.

Re: Lupron for Prostate cancer

my husband's family has prostate cancer. DH father passed from it, DH younger brother has been fighting prostate cancer for several yrs (I believe since 2012).  I know he goes to Sloan-Kettering in NYC for all his treatments. We have not seen his brother/wife and family for a year. should have dh call his brother to just check in with him.

Re: Lupron for Prostate cancer

14 years ago my husband had external beam radiation for prostate cancer. Prostate was not removed. He did have body aches and was anemic needing iron infusions. As I recall he had Lupron shots afterwards. His cancer was Agent Orange related and recurs every so far often and is treated with Lupron shots. He complains of a back ache for a day or two after the shots.
