@Kachina624 wrote:@ECBG They had one in Odessa, TX that looked dirty and super crummy. That had one here that was old and about the same. I'm glad to hear they have at least one nice store.
There's one in Belen and two in Albuquerque -- one on 4th and one on 11th.
Haven't shopped there, but several years ago I'd drive a coworker home and he'd sometimes ask if I could stop at the store on 11th so he could pick up a couple things.
Now if they had a wine table here I might be tempted...

It seems to depend on the individual stores with some of these chains. I haven't heard of Lowes but we do have an Aldi and I think it's disgusting but apparently lots of people love it. Publix is getting ridiculous with their prices. I really like Trader Joe's but it's a little far
When I lived in the Northeast it was Giant and they were always nice stores

We were on the coast of NC when I shopped Lowes.

Never heard of it. I thought at first it was located inside Lowes but that is not the case.

In Albuquerque, NM...

You must have been in one like this store in Alamogordo.
Why the ____ don't we have one of these in Albuquerque?
If I ever get down to Alamogordo, I'm stopping in there!

Thank you Bee. The store I shopped was very much like the one you pictured. The wine area and the the associate was working with the meats/seafood wasn't as large as the areas in your picture.
The aisles were quite long and very nice.

Hey, thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm serious about checking it out if I'm in that area!
I feel a road trip coming on...

What are the long tables for in the wine area?
I saw a mgr. doing an interview there.
They do wine tastings and also have chefs that do some cooking classes. You may end up getting one. Some of the older stores have been purchased and will probably be redone in the newer version.

I'd love to have the option here in the mountains of NC, but this area as well as a northern area of SC has been covered by a private store that gradually increased holdings, called Ingles. We also have Publix which is very similar, as well as Fresh Market, Trader Joes, and Aldi.
