To me it means to stop watching Dr. Oz.

Living MY best life means:

  • eating healthy (this in itself is controversial!)
  • getting plenty of sleep (8+ hours)
  • exercising which includes plenty of cardiovascular movement and weight-lifting
  • taking supplements that directly support my health and well being
  • having 3-5 close friends that will help me at any time
  • getting routinr checkups from my dentist, gyn, optometrist, and an annual physical to include basic blood work and screenings
  • colonoscopy as directed by the GI team
  • keeping a positive attitude
  • having  two or more hobbies that I enjoy, especially in the Winter season
  • helping others and volunteering my time and talents

This is what works the best to keep me healthy and young at heart.

Now, it would be the most perfect world if I could do all of these, all of the time.  Sometimes I slip on what makes me feel my best, but if I get off-track, I do not beat myself up, I simply  "snap back" to what works for me!

Thank you, OP, for the reminder,  as I often lose sight of what it means to me - to live my best life is to focus on my blessings, acknowledge and be grateful for each moment of joy.

IMO, if you're doing your best with what you're dealt in life - it hasn't made you bitter or jaded - you continue to grow, count your blessings, give thanks and believe in the golden rule.... you're already living your best life.

I always thought it was a nonsensical cliche, but I like this interpretation!

It is another psychobabble catch phrase.  In other words, meaningless.

@WildFlowerUnicorn

When you wake up in the morning---are you happy?

Do you look forward to the day--even if nothing special is planned?

If you work, do you enjoy your job?

Do you feel loved by those you love?

Are you good to your body?

At the end of the day, are you glad it's over or wish it were still early?

Ask yourself these questions using this morning, today and last night as your examples.

I usually wake up happy to the point that I clench my teeth as I head down the stairs!

And have a strong sense of thankfulness with me throughout the day.  (I don't want to get all religious here, but I am.Woman Happy)

There's plenty of room for improvement--always.  But that's do-able, too!

My take on it is that it's used in jest, when someone is trying too hard to look like they're perfect and everything is awesome in their life on social media or something.  Someone might say oh look at him, he's just living his best life.  It's not a phrase I would ever use seriously about myself or someone else.

I guess it would mean to me to eat healthy most of the time but enjoy some foods that are maybe not so healthy now and then.  keep moving and exercise.  find humor in things and laugh alot.  reduce stress as much as possible. enjoy family and friends.  being thankful for everything.  thanks everyone for your answers!!

You mean he is still on TV?   I thought his dribble was cancelled decades ago.  Never liked him at all.
