My husband is not able to mow the yard this year, we have a self propelled mower but it is heavy and I can barely push it. Anyone one have a mower that you like and think is easy to push?
Right now we are paying to have the yard mowed, which is new to us...well last year we paid someone...1st time in 40+years..we would rather not have to pay someone and thinking about a differen mower, that maybe I can handle.
Any suggestions, welcomed.

@Mom2Dogs Back in the last century we had a lawn boy we loved. Don't know if they still make them. A Snapper that was awful, and a John Deere that weighed a ton and was self-propelled and dragged me around the lawn.
We decided that getting it mowed was worth the money. If I were you, I would seriously look for a good buy. You save on ware on you, your time, and maybe overdoing it on a hot day. Mowers aren't cheap now either I'd guess.

I bought a self-propelled battery-operated mower. It replaced my dinosaur gasoline mower that I could hardly manage. My new battery mower is a dream come true. So easy to maneuver around the yard. I love it. EGO is the brand.

@SilleeMee I was looking at Greenworks but will take a look at the EGO brand...I am thinking that electric is the way to go....I am not a weakling but what we have now is just to heavy for me to push.
We were quoted $65.00 week for mowing and trimming, so I got another bid it was $50.00/week...we just don't want to pay that on a weekly basis and then he showed up today to mow and our back yard is very wet and so he just mowed the front and side yard, the other side yard is also wet.
It would just be more convenient to mow when we want it mowed...I realize the guy is running a business and wants to mow every 7 days but sometimes that is not what we need.

We bought a small riding mower when DH couldn't push any more. It's been a life saver. It's been probably a decade.

@Mary Bailey ...if we had a place to store a rider that would be nice, our 2 car garage is tight.

I have an electric self propelled Greenworks, but be careful about running over the cords!

@Laura14 ...that would be an issue for me and my husband is against a plug in, but I want what ever I can turn on and push!

Try an electric. Maybe they now have rechargables or you'll have to use an extension cord. Without a big heavy gas engine, they are very lightweight.

When I was looking for a new mower I also looked at Greenworks and compared them to EGO. I think if you want lightweight then I would consider Greenworks b/c they use lighter weight materials than does EGO. Greenworks uses more plastic on theirs than EGO so that's why they are lighter.
