Let's Go To a Concert This Summer

Am I allowed to post this? Below is the Chicago and Brian Wilson Tour for this summer. That's some tour! Those old guys are gonna be exhausted. Right now lawn seats are inexpensive ($20 + fees in Camden NJ). Plenty of locations to choose from. We'll figure out some way to find each other as the dates get closer.

@PickyPicky3 Being from So. Cal. it bugs me when it's stated that The Forum is in L.A.  It's NOT. It's in the city of Inglewood.

No interest in seeing an old worn out beach boy. I lived in So. Cal. for 61 years and not far from the Wilson family. I like to watch old BB videos on you tube.

James Taylor is coming to my city this summer. Tickets are selling fast. The prices range anywhere from $130 to over $500 per ticket.

Wow - I would love to see him but $500 a ticket.  Not that much.

We also have the ever famous 3-Day Telluride Bluegrass Festival where tickets went on sale back in December. They are all sold out now. Prices for those tickets ranged from $75 for one day to almost $500 for all 3 days of good times and partying in the Colorado 'high' country. I went one year long ago and saw Emmylou Harris, Rita Coolidge and many others for 3 straight days. Best time of my life!

Re: Let's Go To a Concert This Summer

Went to my final live concerts a few years back. The very last was Elton John and Billie Joel. A year prior to that we went to the Paul McCartney concert.

I am done with the live stuff. Will wait till Bluray or 4k DVD come out on groups I really like. The people that attend these concerts in this era, make it too hard for me just to go there and enjoy the music and the atmosphere.  Not going to pay top dollar to be among a bunch of rude, some obnoxious people. Fans?  Couldn't prove it to me the way they act.

One of my favorite groups were in town late last fall, Styx, and I gave it a lot of thought. Then I remembered my last one with Elton and Billie. My thought ended shortly after remembering that concert.

Our live concert days are over.  Saw many great performers through the years including Emmylou Harris @SilleeMee (and she was absolutely amazing).  Not going to be in crowds like that any more.  So many things have changed and so have we.  Still enjoy music, but over the live stuff.  My grandsons have taken up that torch.

If my dog doesn't like you, neither do I.

I won't lie, there are some bands or musicians I would go see, but none are near to the area where I live. The last time I seen the Beach Boys here was kind of a disaster. The acoustics  were awful. We couldn't hardly distinct which song they were playing or singing. People were standing in their seats and blocking our view. It was pretty bad. And we thought we had good seats. lol

I guess I will just put an album on the turntable and sit back and enjoy.

Also one thing added. I never got to see Neil Diamond in concert and that is my main regret.

@SilleeMee Late DH and I loved bluegrass. A dear friend had a little band that played on Saturday nights at a local Shakey's pizza. His wife and I were besties and we had the best time!

@Leeny

I got to see Neil Diamond. I never saw so many white-haired people in the audience before that concert. Never saw so many diamonds and fur coats either. It was an unforgettable concert and I'm glad I went to it.
