Re: Laughing Stock Of The Neighborhood

[ Edited ]

Hi @jubilant   My tummy is in absolutely knots!  Just reading about yr scary ordeal!   Getting lost is so traumatic to many of us!

My kewl College Buddy used to say "you could get lost in a complete circle"  She wasnt joking!  Cause I HAVE!

When it's not an integral part of our lives, it's easy to forget to carry the Cell Phone, & keep charged

I slid off some back yard enclosed, slippery back stairs, very late one uber black, rainy night, banged up sandwiched betw the City Trash bin, & rail, & broke some ribs.  I should have been wearing a cell phone.  Learned my lesson.  I was very lucky.

Now, I have a handy, grabbable Fanny Pack I tuck my Cell in & strap on, even if only the short walk to the car or MailBox.  No telling what might occur.

Thank goodness you're ok, @jubilant .  Something happening to you??  *NOT ALLOWED!*  Woman Frustrated

I mean, yeah, I have the utmost faith in G-d, & His directions, but so sooo many times, the Message doesnt translate & connect, as intended.    So we carry a charged Cell Phone.  GIF--Emoticon--Female-Lashes--One-Eyed-Wink.gif

@JoyFilled Warrior  What a sweet picture

Thank you for that!

I didn't intend to go so far but for months, due to some health problems, I haven't left my house very much and have felt very house-bound. Something just came over me and, at first, it felt so "freeing". Of course it didn't end up that way and I'm thankful I made it out. It did take me 3 days to recuperate but that's a good reminder

never to do it again!

I appreciate everyone's words of advise and concern they have shown me here.

@Coastalcarolina   That would be scary for a 12 yr. old. A girlfriend and I went into a cornfield once and came out with spiders on us. That did it for me and, like you, never did it again!

Re: Laughing Stock Of The Neighborhood

@jubilant I started reading to read this post, and trying to respond to it Saturday but could not. It awakened a part of me that I did not realize was still alive in me. Being lost like you were, and not in control of myself shakes my to my toes. As I was reading your account my anxiety took control. Just need to say how I felt your fear, your fear-my hands were shaking and tears filled my eyes and sweat ran down my back. . . Just have to say that I am so relieved that you are safe and not hurt. Reading thru the different stories on this thread awakened emotions that were outside my ability to control. I struggle with being empathic, and am so glad you and others herein are safe and unharmed. Not turning this around to be about me, but did not want you all to think I was insensitive or uncaring. Please all take care and thank you for sharing such raw events.

@We rescue cats  I appreciate the fact that you are able to feel what others feel. That, to me, is a good trait to have! I feel fortunate to have

people here who care so much.

I think that contributes to why so many have stayed here.

@jubilant ...........Hopefully your neighbors dont find this silly enough for you to be the laughing stock of the neighborhood.  Anyone that would find this funny is not a nice person.

How frightening that must have been.  Glad your ok.

@Imaoldhippie  Several people have mentioned this to me and I answered them. I think it's partly my fault and should have used a different title.

My neighbors (all of them) are wonderful people who would do anything for us and have. After they found out what happened and how ridiculous I was to do such a stupid thing we all laughed

together.

I was just so happy to be alive and they were happy, too. Yes, I have taken some jokes and some razzing, but, as I mentioned in another post....it is humbling and it looks like I needed that!

I know this for sure....we love them and they love us....that's why we can laugh about this now. They were relieved that I came out of this ok.

@jubilant ..................I get it, I would make a joke out of it too if it happened to me.  I am not afraid to laugh at myself and some razzing and jokes are ok in my book.

@Imaoldhippie I appreciate that and thanks so much for caring. It was a scary experience that I won't soon forget!
