I don't like to receive gift cards.  I hate them.  If I receive them, I usually sell them on giftcardgranny or give them away.

if I had to choose, I prefer an Amex or some other gift card that could be used anywhere.

Re: Large Gift Card

[ Edited ]

I would never do QVC again.

My wife and I over the years always gave my mother-inlaw gift cards.

Sadly she passed away a few weeks ago and we contacted the company to tell them of  her passing and how would we go about dealing with her account which held several of these cards,

First they tell me her account had been closed, I asked who authorized the closing.

She gave an answer that they auromatically do this when one has died..

I told her there was no way possible they knew of her death, so what was her second excuse.

I was just going to let it go and forget about the monies in the account, but that rep really got me wondering, just how many people forget about the gift cards and just what happens to the money.

So I phoned back and got a more curtious rep.

She found my moms account , it wasn't closed and the monies were there.

She told me all I had to do to prove I was her executor , write all the addresses mom ever lived, with phone numbers and provide her death certificate. I mean really???

Why they didn't ask for her ss number and last address, to me would have been sufficient.  All this, especially at such a difficult time.

I sent off all they asked this morning, now I want to see how many more hoops I will have to jump through..

Moral of this story,,don't bother with gift cards from this place, you never know what might happen to the "gifter" and where that money will end up..

Will be interesting to see if I see a check at all...

Have a great day everyone!

Amex. I would rather have two $250 cards.
