As some of you may know, my DH passed away last fall.  While our DD and I were at his bedside, 6 minutes before he died, the touch lamp across the room ''flickered'', causing my daughter to comment ''Are the lights going to go out??"  Mind you, there was no storm / no other weather issues outside at all and neither of us was near the touch lamp at the time.  6 minutes late he was gone.  I've kept that moment in my mind a lot since that night. ...but last night, my DD sent me a ''Reels'' video of a hospice nurse who had been in the room with her dying patient - and the lamp flickered just like it did in my DH's room.  I tend to believe in ''signs'' and I think this was a pretty strong one, especially after watching the hospice video.  It was like reliving it all over again.  It reminds me of a comment that Billy Graham made years ago - that 'when we die, we will not be alone but angels will accompany us on our journey to heaven. '

@sarahpanda  What beautiful moment and memory. I too believe in signs, they are everywhere if one only pays attention, but I don't think those who are not open to it will see them IMO. I have had many experiences with loved ones that have passed, visiting me in many ways and sending me signs. It is comforting for sure.

@KittySoftPaws   Oh, I totally agree with you !  I've always said that if you ''believe'', you'll be able to witness signs...but you have to be open to the possibility and believe !!

Not about someone's passing...but I have recently had a "strange event".     I was getting ready to go to Home Depot...and was almost out the door...when a "voice" in my head said, "DON'T GO THERE".

A little while later, I saw on TV that there was a horrific traffic accident with fatalities....at the front entrance driveway of that store.

There was definitely energy in the room for you to see and feel while your DH was passing.  How comforting for you to have that memory.

When my dad was dying at 91, completely lucid and with only a few hours left, he was glowing, light surrounding him.

My sister & I left the room for a few minutes and I asked if she saw what I did.  We were so happy we both saw it, it was beautiful.

I had a similar experience last year while snowbirding.  It was a beautiful afternoon and I wanted to go out shopping.  This would mean getting on I-75 at a very busy time of day.  Somehow I just couldn't get out the door.  Of all things, I decided to start making the huge batch of marinara sauce although it was on the late side.

On the news that night was film that a trucker going south on that highway happened to be filming.  A small executive jet piloted by two fellows needed to land:  the pilot managed to crossover the northbound lanes and almost made it over the southbound lanes when a wing tipped and caught the ground.  The pilots got the few students on board out the back but then the plane broke apart exploded.  The pilots were heroes but were burned to death.

The two pale yellow barrier walls were blackened...now they were finally taken down to be replaced.

Thank goodness I stayed home that afternoon...

I firmly believe our Guardian Angels were on alert and protected us.

Another personal story...As I was walking from one college building to another right before graduation when all assignments were done, I felt calm and all of a sudden there was a tremendous feeling of warmth come over me.  I remember I was passing by the St. Joseph statue.  I did not hear words but the message came through somehow:  "You will be back here many times and in ways you could never think of. "

I used this to begin the article for my college's 100th anniversary quarterly publication.  The rest of the article enumerates the ways and shows how career experiences embody the words on the college seal: Faith, Knowledge and Caritas.

All of the "words" became reality and my life story.

So many folks walk around with blinders on and totally miss signs.  Their minds are elsewhere so when someone mentions signs, they find it hard to believe.

One of my frequent prayers, Help me say and do what needs to be said and done.  It has happened so often, I don't bother keeping track anymore.

i believe where signs are given at someone's deathbed, they are provided by angels: one the guardian of the person about to depart and others the angels assigned to those observing the sign.

I absolutely do believe in signs! 18 months ago I lost my infant grandson unexpectedly.  After his funeral and the service concluded at the cemetery, two dragonflies suddenly appeared and circled around his tiny casket then headed straight up in the sky.

 
After that happened, my aunt told me about the legend of the dragonfly.  She said they were my two cousins who both died prematurely years apart, each at age 46, coming down to take my grandson to heaven. 🥺

Legend has it that dragonflies were given an extra set of wings so that Angels could ride on their back. When you see this winged beauty, it's an exquisite reminder that an Angel from Heaven is visiting with you.

I told my DD that I was so glad she witnessed the flickering light with me, otherwise, I don't know if she would have believed me.
