Is it just me or did Labor Day come as a surprise ?  I mean I'm aware of the days, but the end of August just surprised me. I'm a football fan and when I saw that the NFL starts this week, it jolted me into reality. Now the cooler weather makes sense. I'll bet if I were still working, I wouldn't be surprised at all.  Happy Labor Day !

Labor Day came very fast as it always does.  I remember feeling sad when Labor Day arrived because summer was over and school was ahead!  I felt this way as a student and then as an employee in a school system!!!!!  However, now that I am retired, I just appreciate Fall and it is my favorite time of year.  I try not to wish time away as it goes so fast and I do try to live each day as it comes.  Happy Labor Day to all!!!!

I'm in the northeast "down the shore."  It is alreay FALL weather here w/day time temps reaching 70 or 71 & lows in the 40's-mid 50's at night.  

The will be the coldest Labor Day for me.

No indian summer this year "down the shore."

It's 100° right now (11am) in PHX...and heading to 109° (or more)...with high pollution.

It came early for me, too, @QVCkitty1.  In my head, it's usually around the 6th, so I was thinking it was next weekend.  When I was at the dentist last week the technician asked about my LD weekend plans.  I replied with, "I'm having a routine CT scan on the 5th but the rest of the weekend is up for grabs."  The dentist was present and asked if I was ok.  Yes, but apparently missing a few brain cells.  LOL

I'm still working so no surprise here 🙃

We've had some cooler temps but back to the 80's next week.

@Desertdi    🤢. I can't imagine living in that heat.  Today is a beautiful day in eastern Pa.  ....  74 degrees with a nice breeze.  Fall is my favorite time of the year.  Wish it could last longer.  Time to make the apple crisp!  🍁

When I worked, I always took two extra days off after Labor day. The weather was typically some of the best of the year.

LOL, @QVCkitty1  yeah!   Seems my "Season-o-meter" is whack -

Today's the last day, Labor Day, that our outdoor Pool is open?? How can that be?  It's still a very cont'd really warm & sunny.  Dont we have abt another weeks/month?

Yesterday, I did manage to get out, drive thru some "cut thru" neighborhoods, & I noticed, ppl are already hanging out their notable Autumn yard decor!    One house even had newly decorated their front yard tree with small sheet "Halloween ghosts" hanging from the branches!  Was cute, but a hot/warm Autumn?

Another had hung a big ole Halloween skeleton!

And yesterday, at the grocery store, breaking out the Pumpkin already - Pumpkin Creamers!  Pumpkin enhanced flavor Cider.   Pumpkin pastries. 

(If I'd passed a Pumpkin Patch, woulda just blown my mind, yeah?)

Little more evidence of Labor Day coming, but here? -  This week -  School buses all around - frenetic activity of kids being picked up/dropped off already?   all the while in this cont'd heat!   Nothing seemed to demark the start of school year, like a Labor Day.

Seems beloved Autumn is definitely trying to make itself known in any case!  And seems many ppl are really, really ready for what often is considered to be the best-est season, Autumn.  Maybe I need that one, 1st cold snap to hit?

Labor Day never comes too soon for me. I live to see the weather get cooler and to say 'good-bye' to summer...more like kick it to the curb and be done with it.
