@BunSnoop  Our day was very similar.........took the trash to the landfill (the only time the pooch gets to ride along in the hot summer months), mowed pooch yard with push mower, did 2 loads of laundry, changed sheets, vacuumed dog hair out of vehicle (siberian husky)

And I had the worst senior moment EVER...........I re-parked my car in the drive, put the vacuum away and went to do the the stuff inside the house.  BF went to grill 5 hours later and tells me my car is still running.  I forgot to turn it off after parking it.  It's a hybrid so it probably turned on/off all afternoon.

My mind was just racing with other things going on .....

Guess I'm going for an oil change this week!

Oh geez.  Had similar senior moments.  The other day I forgot I had to step on the brake to start my car.  It's push button start.  I tried several times to start it and when it wouldn't start I thought there was something wrong with it.  But alas, the something was me

Re: Labor Day Weekend Plans

[ Edited ]

There are some events around here this weekend. I don’t have any specific plans.

It’s a “back to the city” weekend for folks with summer homes and it’s “back to school time.”

Next weekend is 9/11 anniversary. Another bunch of events - memorials and an annual end of summer event at Church.

Temperatures to hit 105 degrees in SoCal this weekend, staying in doors with the comfort of the A/C and vegging out with my doggie, Oscar, he is so spoiled and can't take the heat, you would think we lived in the Sahara Desert, he gets so dramatic at times, LOL.

We went to a large family pool party on Saturday. It's always lots of fun and this one was no exception. Today was a housework kind of day.... laundry, cleaned bathrooms , husband cleaned out the garage. Tomorrow we will relax, maybe visit mom in the afternoon. All in all a balanced work/fun weekend!

Gathering at my brothers of the siblings , we are in our 60 and 70's now . My one sister lives in Texas in the winter so we gather just before she leaves .  No kids or grandkids at this one !

I have had a pretty boring weekend.  Although we have a beach house, I do not like to use it on holiday weekends as it is much too crowded.  I will go in late September as Rosh  Hashanah is on Monday, September 26 and I am off work that day (I work in a public school system with a significant Jewish population).  Anyway,  DH just started his position as an adjunct professor at a local university so he is grading today.  He is pretty busy with this position, his full time contract and running his own business.  That's a lot for him since he semi-retired in 2016.

I just finished going through my refg/freezer and all my pantry food items. I am very surprised how many expire today Sept. 5 2022.
Happy Labor Day Everyone.

I got groceries on Saturday then came home and repackaged some things then did some odds and ends around the house.  Sunday, was church followed by some light cleaning and a nap in the afternoon.  Monday, we went to our annual Labor Day Parade then out for Mexican afterwards.
