Yes, indeed.  There's a group of 7 of us who started working together 20something years ago.  One became my absolute best friend.  One I still work with, we are both managers now and friends.    The others moved on to other things over the years.  Some are closer to each other than to the others.  But we get together every spring for a girl's night out.  Once it was drinks in a bar and dinner in a restaurant.  Now,  we do it someone's home.  We rotate so everyone gets a chance to host and we all bring something.  It's so much fun, getting caught up and hearing about what our kids are doing. Graduations, weddings, grandbabies.  We might touch on illnesses or marriage problems but we don't focus on such things.  We reach out to each other individually for support with those things.  The girls night out is about fun and sharing and renewing the bond.   There's another group that I have Christmas lunch with every year, we're doing it this conning Monday.  Our connection goes back to our old neighborhood where we raised our children.  We were young and poor and we bonded pushed babies carriages together, did the lunch mom thing, had cookout in our back yards.  Some of our kids are still friends now.  We're still friends but we've all moved away so we don't see much of each other as a group.  But every holiday season, we make the time.
