Left for DC on Friday morning. I had a MUA workshop on Sat. with a dress up dinner Sat. night.

Sunday I was on my own to explore museums & lunch in Georgetown. Lots of traffic, construction everywhere and took forever to find a parking garage.

Late afternoon and I was in the Tyson's malls in McLean, VA where the hotel was located. Yes, I did some "damage" since the stores were fully stocked.

Sunday night was a quick wrap up cocktail party, a few closing speeches and LOTS of samples, PR gift sets and gift bags from various cosmetic and skin care lines.

It's a 4 1/2 hr. drive to get home, so left very early Monday morning.

What a fun weekend!!!!

@Shanus  How exciting!

Can you share something "new" or some product you discovered that has possibilities?

@Shanus  I love the Tyson  Mall. I always find WAAAYY too much there :-)  Went in February for my grand daughter's birthday-she wanted a new baby doll from the American Girl store.  Had a blast!

@Harpa   There were demos doing the new lighter looking, natural makeup for spring/summer....more emphasis on skincare.

RMS had a small KIOSK with way too many samples, a few models for demos and I had my makeup done by a  MUA for Rose Marie. No, I did not look like her Victoria Secret models...about 40 yrs. older and  almost a foot and a half too short. It was all a little too shiny for me, but I could see using just a few products on lips and eyes. The lip balms are good and I already use the brow product w/ perfect brush.

MAC was represented, but the looks shown were a bit too dramatic for me, so just watched.

Of course the trend is clean beauty. The glass skin techniques are still going strong, as well.

Mascaras and lipgloss seem to be the big thing with so many new ones coming out...have samples and will report back when I've tried some.

MACSTACK mascara ($28 if I had to purchase) is really good...broke my rule of drugstore mascara...wore it Sat. night to the "fancy dinner" with full on makeup...bordering on drag! My MUA friend from NM Galleria Mall here came own the hall to do my makeup and I did hers.

I scored big at Augustinus Bader. The first 50 of us who got to their tables received a huge PR package with full size products. They're way too expensive and I doubt I'd purchase it myself, but will be interesting to try.

Bumble and Bumble has a display area and gifts...received a box of Bb. Curl products. Amazing how many times I had to run out to the car to put things in the back...just could not carry it all. Some people were smart and had brought in those wire shopping carts on wheels. I thought that would be a bit presumptuious.

Being short was an advantage here. I could weave my way in and around the display areas like lightening. I was able to get to the ORIBE display area and scored large samples sizes of their haircare.

At ILIA: Multi-Stick Cream Blush in Whisper, almost the same as Nars O Multiples. Great slip and seems to stay on. OK, so I had to play with some of these before I got home.

MILK makeup: I've never tried any of their makeup. Sephora was handing out starter kits w/ a makeup bag. OMG! It seems everyone was handing out products in makeup bags and/or totes....have enough for the rest of my life.

THE OUTSET: Scarlet Johannsen's new and promising brand. Everyone was racing to get their hands on her Restorative Niacinamide Night Cream. Seems like good ingredients, but will have to work it into my scant night routime. So, was I in line? You betcha!

Oh, SUPERGOOP: I was gifted a full size of the Glow Screen SPF 40. The rep said it's great under makeup. Now that's worth trying. It's always tough to find a good sunscreen that sits well under foundation. This is  supposed to provide a slight glow, my SPF and a primer type formula.

Well, more to report as I unpack the boxes and see what else I have here. Right now everything is spread out on my dining table...10 feet of play area!!! ?

@Shanus Oh boy can I identify with you!  I spent many weeks roaming all over DC when husband was  on business.  I still know the metro routes!  Loved that city!

One morning at Pentagon City, having no customers at ALL, the people in cosmetics started putting things on me and taking them off and laughing and demonstrating their new wares and telling jokes and stories and we had THE best time ever.

And the museums, the Caswell Massey shop, Old Town Alexandria, Dupont Circle, the Fountain Pen Store (I could live there), and oh my all over the place!   There used to be a beautiful restaurant up top of Air and Space and I'd go alone after the lunch crowd--got to know the staff there.   It's in a scene from "No Way Out" I think is the movie!

How super you got to do this!  GOOD for you!!!  Woman Very Happy
