Just thought I would mention it!

I finished my Chrismas shopping this afternoon a whole week earlier than my usual goal of Thanksgiving!

Now all I have left to do for Christmas is, unpack my Christmas dishes, address my 40 to 50 Chrismas cards, send my one daughter & family who live out of state their gifts, bake about 4 dozen cookies and freeze them and I will be ready for the big day!!  I do have a ways to go!!!!

How are all of you doing?Woman Wink

Re: Just thought I would mention it!

I have only purchased 2 gifts so far!  My home is a wreck....not even ready for Thanksgiving...just got my turkeys today at Meijer...great sale on those!  I am more focused on Turkey dinner right now....after that will be putting up the tree and then hopefully I can get going on XMas shopping and be done in early December.

Your WAY ahead of me LOL!

Re: Just thought I would mention it!

Shopping is finished except for one gift for a neighbor.  I don't cook Thanksgiving dinner.  I plan to start wrapping on black Friday.  Unfortunately, my Christmas card list gets smaller every year.  I do enjoy sending cards.

Re: Just thought I would mention it!

I do very little for the holidays anymore, minimal decorating, baking and cooking in general. We all stopped exchanging gifts and sending cards via snail mail years ago. We are all happy to have quiet, relaxed holidays.

@Newgate Christmas shopping was finished at the end of October.Christmas decorations was finished the second week of November.

My Christmas decoration is minimal, small porcelain Christmas trees  out the living and dinning room table (the table cloth is white, with yellow Christmas Floral print)',with  old-fashioned Santa Clauses with Miss Martha Originals ,and Sarah attic and Hamilton collectables porcelain chidren, and adults surroundings it.

My  antique (4) Nativity scenes( I display in my china cabinet all year) are  on my coffee table and end tables in the middle of small  house plants. My Sofa  and recliners are decorated  with White and gold fake furs throws.

I have in front of my living room  picture window a 36 width and 35 length black metal shelve, the top  shelve has 8 hand carved wood animals  from elephants, giraffes, rhinos tigers, in the middle a  artsian crafted brown metal  tree ( 1 1/2 ft )with green, yellow, red moving bells, and sitting on each side two Annette Himstedt collectible dolls.

My son's will put lights in my flower garden.

Gifts are wrapped, gift cards and Christmas cards are ready to be hand deliver or mail.

Last Thanksgiving I did the cooking, this year going to my sister's, I will bring the desserts, cheesecake and peach cobbler.

My son and daughter in law are doing the cooking for Christmas.

Wow!  I am impressed.  My family usually tries to exchange Christmas lists on Thanksgiving but that doesn't always happen.  Most of my shopping is done online between Kohl's and Amazon.

tRe: Just thought I would mention it!

Not me well for me I did😁

For me there is no rush to do much -- I'm thinking maybe I'll check out black friday sales, but, I only need a few gifts.

And decorating isnt until after 12/10 or maybe before.  It's just me & spouse.  I'll be going home week before holiday to celebrate.

Congrats to you for being so organized & Merry Christmas🎄🤶🎅🏻

Re: Just thought I would mention it!

Done shopping. Will address some cards in a week or two. We will start decorating Thanksgiving weekend.

I have a few gifts that I need to make. I should have time to get them finished over the next week or two.

I don’t bake anymore. My daughter will bring baked goodies on Christmas Eve.  And I’m ordering food for Christmas Eve from our local Italian restaurant.

I’ve drastically cut back on the amount of work I do for the holidays. And I enjoy them so much more.
