do you get a shower (or bath)
or do you just shower (or bathe)
I take showers. My hubby is always asking me where I am taking the shower?
Being born and raised in the midwest (Ohio) is this a regional thing?
Being from Ohio I drink pop and red off the table.
Another Buckeye here and I agree with it all. I take a bath or shower too, and it will always be pop.
I grew up hearing my grandma say 'red up' or 'red off' a lot, but that is one phrase that I have not carried forward. I just really had forgotten about it until reading this post. Will be bringing it back some now.....got to keep up the phrases! LOL

@Imaoldhippie I take showers and I drink Coke. Where I live, it is called soda, but I only drink Coke, so that is what it is.

Really? I'm a Dallas native and have never heard anyone say 'soda'. Maybe it's a city v. country thing. Although my 'country cousins' never say soda either.
I take a bath and drink either a 'generic coke' or soft drink. Lived outside Philly for 16 years and never got used to 'soda'. I think of club soda when I hear it.

@lulu1 When ordering, I specifically say coke. If someone asks if I want a coke, & I say yes, they then say "coke-coke", lol. I guess it IS a "country thing" as someone else mentioned. It irritates me to no end, when a server asks if Pepsi is ok. NO it is NOT the same, & NO it is not ok. I never drink Pepsi.

Take a shower. I have always wondered about the phrase "draw" a bath but never considered the difference of "take" or "have" a shower.

I like both bath and showers. I have to ask cause I think I need a translator what the heck is a red or pop. I am from NYC so I know these things are regional cause when I moved to Jersey no one there seemed to know what a lime ricky was or a egg cream.

I'm right there with you on the Coke/Pepsi thing.
I saw a funny response to the question when ordering a coke:
"Is Pepsi OK"
Answer: "is paying with Monopoly money OK?"
I can't wait to use that.
