Does the white one you pictured really work on mid size to large jars???

I need something for larger jars (pickles, spag sauce etc)

TIA!

For small bottles,  I use my Grannies old fashioned nut cracker I inherited.

@RespectLife   It works on every jar I've tried.  It's adjustable as far as size goes.

I had a really hard time opening jars before I got this.  I would use hot water and then pound it on the counter.  This makes it very easy.  It's been great for me.

I just use an XL Sharpie to black out personal info when necessary.

Re: Just a tip on something so easy

Thanks much @NickNack

Appreciate the review!

I have the other Kuhn can opener you pictured and love it.  BUT I have tried using that hooky end to 'pop' the seal on jars and it never works!

I'm currently hot water and whacking too, so I need something that works!

Thanks again!

Re: Just a tip on something so easy

I know we're  on to jar openers but I just have to  ask about the name removal system.... I guess I'm not nearly as conccerned as I should be about some these issues.   Credit cards and social  security yes but my name on a pill bottle.   Never gave it a thought.  I figure my name is on my mail, packages etc. and pretty much out there in many other venues.   I take a statin... not sure what anyone could benefit from attaching my name to that drug.

@Annabellethecat66

I am going to give this a try. Our labels on our medicine bottles are impossible to get off. I use black magic marker to blot out all the information and it takes me awhile since DH and I both take several prescriptions. Thanks for the idea.Woman Happy Some of the simplest things to do and we never think of it.

Re: Just a tip on something so easy

@Leeny  Others here also had easy solutions.

I just put down a piece of paper towel and push off the Scrunchy label.  It's impossible to read it. It's wet and scrunched in a ball.

Then I open up the napkin and the tiny pieces fall in the trash.  The pieces are little tiny balls smaller than the head of straight pen.

Please come back and tell us what did or didn't work.

That way we learn from each other.

@Leeny Hope you have a good rest of the week.  Take care and be safe, fondly, Annabelle/Linda😘

Re: Just a tip on something so easy

@x Hedge @I do the same thing.  Those scissors that cut through plastic are wonderful.

I've given them to family members and they love them too.

I cut thru the name and numbers.  Then I cut those into tiny pieces.

Like you I put them into separate trash bags.

I can't explain it, but it feels good to cut the cards into tiny pieces.

I have a shredder that will cut them but I'd rather cut them with the scissors.

@Mz iMac

I love that lid/ jar opener.  I had hand surgery many years ago.  I set up that device and only recently did it stop working.  Thanks for reminding me to replace it.

Why would one need to take their name off medicine bottles? Maybe when the medicines are disposed of, for security reasons, otherwise I don't see the need.

@teganslaw   I agree.  See my above post.   No one answered my question.  Good luck with yours.
