The dryer tech came around 10 am and was gone within 20 minutes.  It was the ignitor and an easy repair.

There are times when you must speak, not because you are going to change the opposing side, but because if you do not speak, they have changed you.

luvsbulldogs, I know what you mean re the deer.  Once, deer got onto my property because a gate broke, didn't know this until after I saw a deer munching on a plant one eveing while eating dinner, couldn't believe my eyes!  I thought I had had too much wine with dinner, lol.

DD  and I spent a week glued to windows taking pictures of the doe and fawn, the thrill of a lifetime for me. We then had to shoo them out the gate(s).  I will post pictures soon.

mousiegirl.........deer eat everything on our property and we feed them daily.  We have way too much property to fence in so that is one of the reasons I do no gardening here.  At our other house I did gardening on a daily basis and loved every moment of it.  I miss it a lot.  I am looking forward to seeing your pics.

I do recall you luvs - sorry I messed up on who asked the questions. Get as old as me and any excuse will do. LOL. I was not out at all - it is my understanding that is not done. Perhaps some MDs are different but I do not know anyone who is out. The thing that still floors me is how quickly it was, just like you were taking a rest, you can hear th MD and others on occasion if they are talking and it was sooooooooooo fast and sooooooooooo painless. Have several friends - including my parents - who had this done - none had any trouble at all. Do not know how it works where you are but these kind of surgeries are not done in a hospital - long ago they were - and not done in a MD office, but rather a facility which is used only for outpatient surgeries - quick and fast. You can ask the MD who will be doing this - at least call his/her office and they can answer any specific questions you may have prior to having it done. Trust me, you will be so surprised to find out there is just nothing to it.

Got all the quilts, sheets done and they are on the line - now that's a job. The kids Mom actually did them at the laundromat for me - in the past I always did them here but am afraid of being fined for using too much water. So you now spend an extra $10 to $15 a week at the laundromat each week so you do not get fined. Just makes no sense plus just living out here is super expensive. As I have said, just cannot stand it out here any more.

Hope all had a good day

Can you see better now, Winifred, and if so, how much better?  I have a bad left eye, apparently, though I see perfectly fine out of it with my right eye covered, which is why I am interested.

The water company just showed up and said someone called due to water near the driveway, so DH will look at it tonight, and hopefully, it is coming from Tiger's owners above us, and not a broken pipe here.  We have them every now and then, and if DH can't fix them,  we call a plumber.  I told the guy that the next door neighbor has a pool and Tiger's house also does, they leak too at times.

Crazy that you have to go to a laundromat.  I made the contractor stick to the plan about the washer and dryer being installed on a particular date as I did not want to go to a laundromat, and he did.  I havn't been to one in years, think the last time was in Hawaii eons ago.

Happy 4th to you!

UPDATE:  At about 6:00, a huge water company truck arrived, and there has been a lot of drilling and digging going on, so don't know what is up, but eventually will find out.

Hi Winifred ........  I am so glad that you remember me.  I always loved hearing about Ca. and all the beautiful flowers that you have there.  I also remember that you had something that always grows in your backyard and it is thorny and you have to cut it down every year.  Is this the time of the year that you have to take care of it?

What a shame that you have to go to the laundromat to get the bedding stuff done.  I hope the drought ends soon for you.  We are in a drought here too but nothing like what Ca. has.  We have a well so we have to conserve too.  We have had a couple of rain storms but still are in need of some more rain.

Thank you for all the information on Cataract Surgery.  I am going to my eye doctor for the surgery and it is done in a surgical room at his office.  I thought he said that you are pretty much awake and that they give you some Valium to relax you.  I just wanted to be sure because I cannot take certain drugs because they make me very sick.  Not sure about Valium as I have never taken it but I will check when I go to get fitted for the lens.  I am glad to hear that there is not a long recuperation time because we want to go away and I really want to be here during the recuperation time.  That is good that it is not a long time.  I had to cancel the lens fitting this past Wed. because I was sick but I go at the end of the month.  Thanks again Winifred.  You have made my day!

mousiegirl......  hoping that the water is not coming from your property.  You have enough on your plate without something else.  I hope it all gets fixed.

luvs, the water company just phoned to say that the leak is from our line, so DH will talk to them when he gets home to find out what is what.  It is nothing we have done, most likely just age of the line, but hope we are not stuck with a huge bill.  If we weren't in a drought, no one would have paid any attention to this, but we would have eventually figured it out and repaired it.

Luvs, those sticky things were foxtails - they can cause havoc on our four legged friends.
