Sue, so you don't have to see a rheumatologist for the RA?  I'm glad you are getting some relief, especially as it relates to the UTI.  I don't get them often, but went through a stretch when all someone had to do was look at me hard and whammo.  When I get a UTI, it goes straight to severe - if have only two settings, no UTI or severe UTI (lol).   I am terribly sorry to hear that your dear cousin passed away.

Betty, what is a curtain in your vision?  Blurriness or loss of vision temporarily?  So are they doing a doppler or ultrasound on your carotid in your neck to check out the blood flow?

Mercy me but yesterday and last night I would like to forget. As I mentioned in my Wednesday post, yesterday was another save energy day - 2 to 4 p.m. cut off major electrical use. And it is soooooooo hot and worse with the humidity. Humidity was 88 percent yesterday. We were getting so very warm in the house so left about 3 to go to eat out at an AC restaurant of course. LOL. As we were driving home the sky collapsed on us. I was really nervous as hail was coming down really fierce, the winds were unreal - I really thought we were in a tornado and I was thinking i left my clothes on the line, new flag on the pole and so on. We got home, attended to those things and the nightmare was worse. Went inside - no electricity. Long story short we got it back on this morning at a quarter to 6. So we had not just 4 hours from being uncomfortable but add 12 hours to it. Not nice at all After the rain and hurricane winds subsided I went to the store and bought 2 huge bags of ice - figured we would need it. Very difficult sleeping but I did get some. Of course I went to the beauty shop yesterday and had my hair done - what a waste of money. Today very sultry again BUT I CAN TURN MY AC ON. Actually I just turned it on - ran more errands and that was a nightmare. The violet storm yesterday did a lot of damage here.

Betty, hope your vision problems subside and Sue, glad to read you got some relief for your problems. Sure is heck to get old isn't it???? If my memory is correct it seems as if others are doing well here - sure hope so.

Everyone left earlier - have no clue where to or why but that's ok, I slept for 2 1/2 hours on the sofa. Really nice. Got up and went and did some things needed doing. My mother had this great radio which ran on batteries if needed that had weather alerts, etc and I tried to turn it on yesterday. Got nothing out of it so figured I needed a new one. Those great radios are very difficult to find these days - but I found one. Not nearly as nice as MOthers but got it form Radio Shack - that]s where she bought hers. I tried several other places first and they did not know what I was talking about - do not ask me why I just did not go to Radio Shack first. So sad to walk into that store, however as they have very few things in there. I had also gone to KMart and I sure got the feeling that store was also on the way out. Just do not understand it. They closed the KMart south of me last summer and it was always so clean, had great salespeople who knew what their products were and appeared to always be busy. I suspect the Super WM built in the next block did them in - just not right.

Really  sticky today - took Girl Kitty to get her scissor claws cut back. Have never had a cat like that one. Sweet little thing but has claws of iron.

Take care everyone!!

Re: July 2015 - Back Fence

[ Edited ]

Bernie, my health care giver is referring me to a rheumatologist, but apparently there's a long wait so she's helping me until I can see whomever it turns out to be. She's also referred me to a cardiologist. I'm not a fan of all these 'ologist's', but guess I have to go whether I want to or not. I've been wanting to get some more instructions from you about posting pictures and plan to do so when I feel a bit better. If I remember correctly you had mentioned something about my cataract surgery, but don't remember what you had asked or said, so if you remember let me know and I'll try to answer. Though everyone but Jim has said it was a snap and nothing to it, I am dreading it and with all this other stuff going on with me may have to pospone it, but I have a preliminary appointment on Monday and I'll see what they say. One of my biggest concern's is this persistent cough I have. Somehow a sharp tool on my eye plus a cough sounds like a recipe for disaster!Smiley Sad

Freddie, I'm so sorry about your miserable and dangerous weather. I've been seeing the pics of the fires out north west of you not far from the area where we lived for so many years. Did your car get hail damaged?  We've had so much rain this year and I just lost my cable signal due to a rainstorm. It's really coming down and I so wish I could share it with you and cool you off and put out those terrible fires.

Betty, sorry about your eye problems and hope they can be resolved soon. I hope this test is not too unpleasant for you.

I've been watching the gourmet food shows on the Q today and they are killing me! Oh, my everything looks sooooooo good.

Guess I'd better get off this computer as the storm is raging on.

Night all. Sue

Bernie, they are doing an ultra sound on my carotid glands.  I was scheduled for an EKG next Friday and was able to get this test done at the same time if I was able to get there by 7:15 am. No problem.  That gives me the rest of the day to get stuff done.  Freddie. Both the Radio Shack and KMart are gone here.  Used to get some great electronics at both places

I forgot to say, Bermie, that it seemed like a dark curtain came over my eye.  It probably lasted at the most two minutes.  It seemed longer. The first one was sitting in the lobby at church and I said to my granddaughter in law a curtain just came down and I can't see out of my right eye.  After a moment it lifted.  The second time was at a soccer practice. Both times were very brief.  Doc thinks I experienced TIAs.    I had surgery in that eye for a retina pucker a few years back. They couldn't repair it completely nut did improve it.  I already take a blood thinner so the ultrasound is to see if anything has changed.
