Betty, I'm glad you enjoyed the local theater's performance of Mary Poppins.  Even better than your great grand enjoyed it :-)

Luvsbulldogs,  maybe there's a bigger reason for a delay in surgery.  Even though they don't knock you out for cataract lens replacement, it's still surgery and I'm sure they want to make sure that the major systems (heart, lungs, etc) are A-okay.

I watched a little QVC this morning then headed off to a different Meijer store to look at some of the new fall arrivals in clothing.  I tried on 2 tops and they fit and were affordable, they just didn't inspire me, so I didn't buy them.

Once I arrived home I cleaned all of the windows in the Nissan. I don't even have the nerve to tell you how long it's been (lol).

Birdmama.....I think that you are right.  I have several questions about the surgery and no one to ask.   It seems that I had my chance when the doctor told me I needed to have it done.  But he was in a hurry and I could tell and he actually caught me off guard. I am going to find out who I can get to answer my couple of questions.

I have found that when I try on clothing these days if I am not in love with it or feel that I have to have it then I do not buy it.  From what you said it sounds like you made the correct choice.  If you change your mind you can always go back and get them.  If they are gone then it wasn't meant to be.  JMO.

I laughed when you mentioned your car and cleaning the windows.   I out that off for as long as I possibly can.

Betty, very muggy here in Sou Cal also. Ahhhhhhhhhh for the good old days of DRY heat. Sure wish it would return. Had to laugh at my brother - he stopped by to pick up some chicken I had bought for him and had it in the freezer for a couple weeks - on sale and a super price and better yet this is the best chicken you can find - chicken breasts, boneless and skinned but actually has a flavor. Any way, he got out of the car and was in misery - he lives up in the mountains at about 6000 feet. At any rate he said he just cannot believe how miserable it is down here - now bear in mind he lived in this house from the time he was in the 8th grand and on to graduation. He detests it here now - cannot say as I blame him.

Started something new here with saving water - say a prayer I can get my "tenants" to follow the new rules. Read about it in our local little weekly paper - some people are doing it and saving a good $50 a month on their water bill. At any rate, my bathroom is on the opposite end of the house as the water heater so it takes a while to get warm water over there. Put a bucket under the shower - bought 3 buckets - and run the water in it until it heats up - I filled 2 buckets of water before it warmed up - can use that on my dwarf peach tree and other bushes, flowers and trees. Also used it in the sink in the bathroom and filled a half bucket - wonder of wonders. That cold water has always just run down the drain in many instances. Am surprised quite frankly I never thought of that NOR did my Dad who was light years ahead of most people with things like this. Mercy me why do I have to work so hard at my age to save money and water to save being fined. Am too old for this kind of extra work but will do it as long as I can move. LOL.

Hope all had a super good day.

Re: July 2015 - Back Fence

It feels like summer in Indiana.  We had so much rain earlier this year and now it feels like a sauna.     I don't have to go out in it today except to put out the garbage at the curb.   It's pretty quiet around here today.  I think I'm just going to enjoy a glass of lemonade and enjoy reading on my Kindle.   I keep looking at that new one but think I already have those features.  The one with the different page turns I think I would like but they want too much money for it.

Winifred........times sure do change.  When we first moved here no one even owned an AC or had it in their cars.  There was no humidity and it was really nice.  The winters we had snow on a daily basis and you we did not see the ground until the end of April sometimes.  Now we have constant humidity, we have central AC in our homes and also AC in our cars and the temps get really high in the Summer months.  As for the Winter we get snow but sometimes instead we get ice which I would rather have the snow especially for walking and driving.

I like what you said about saving water.  I can't wait to tell DH.

I thought it was only us who think that some chicken no longer tastes like chicken or anything.

Have a nice day!!!

Freddie - that's a good idea for saving water.  I know I've guilty of letting it go down the drain when I am waiting for warm water to fill the sink for the dishes.  I will start using that idea today.

I watered my grass for a few hours yesterday with the oscillating sprinkler.  I gave each section 45 minutes of 'rain'.  This is the first time this year that I pulled out the sprinkler - I did it so the Robins might have something to eat.

Betty and Luvsbulldogs - It's hot and humid here today - yeck.  I usually drive to work with the car windows open, today I kicked on the car's A/C.  Nothing worse to me that showing up at work "dewy".

Birdmama.....I agree that there in nothing worse than showing up to work dewy!   Remember the days when we had no AC in our cars?  I grew up at the Jersey shore and my Dad had a convertible and it seemed even hotter when he would put the top down with the sun beating right on you.

Yeah I remember luvs.  I also remember the vinyl seats and nearly getting a third degree burn on my legs (lol).  Do you remember those weaved car seat covers/pads?  I guess they were supposed to prevent burns and allow for air flow but the edges felt like you were sitting on a coat hangar (lol).

Birdmama....I forgot about those vinyl seats and the weaved car seat covers/pads.  Yes, I think they were to circulate air but they did feel like you were sitting on a coat hanger...lol.  They were scratchy and felt terrible on a sun burn.
