For some reason, this really hit home with me today and I thought I'd share for anyone who needs a reminder ๐

@house_cat I saw this today on FB & couldn't get it out of my mind. Life is so short. One day you're young & your whole life is ahead of you. The next day you're collecting Social Security!!
Wow!! Where did all that time go? Very scary!!

Oh, that so true. I look in the mirror and see an old lady and in my mind I'm still 21. Its hard to believe. It sneaks up so fast.

And for some, the trip is really short. My younger brother died when he was only 34. Massive coronary, the "widow maker." My SIL was eight months pregnant when he died. He would have turned 60 this year.

This is how I feel. Yesterday, I was in my twenties and today I'm looking into 70.
If only people realized how fast it goes and didn't waste it on hating others for whatever silly reason they say they have.

As I age time is going by much faster then when I was younger. I remember when I a kid counting down the years till I was a teenager. Now I turn around and another year has blown by.

So very true for me, too. One of my favorite songs is "The Circle Game" by Joni Mitchell. Oh, how I wish I could drag my feet to slow the circles down.

This is so true, more true every day.
It did remind me of a funny thing that happened years ago. We were visiting my mother in law in the nursing home. She was no longer able to care for herself. Her mind was in and out. One of her children said something about driving her crazy. She surprised us all when she said, "It's a short trip." We all laughed and were amazed she was still so quick.
Thanks for reminding me of the good memory.

When I was seventeen it was a very good year
It was a very good year for small town girls and soft summer nights
We'd hide from the lights on the village green
When I was seventeen
When I was twenty-one it was a very good year
It was a very good year for city girls who lived up the stair
With all that perfumed hair and it came undone
When I was twenty-one
Then I was thirty-five it was a very good year
It was a very good year for blue-blooded girls
Of independent means, we'd ride in limousines their chauffeurs would drive
When I was thirty-five
But now the days are short, I'm in the autumn of the year
And now I think of my life as vintage wine from fine old kegs
From the brim to the dregs, and it poured sweet and clear
It was a very good year
