@rochelleS 's comment on another thread about how I looked like her mother reminded me to post about this.
A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I were having lunch at Culvers. As we were eating a guy stopped at our table, looks at me, and says "Helen?". I smile and answer "no".
I can't count the number of times this has happened to me. I must have the most common face in America. People always think they know me. And it's never that I simply look familiar. They always know exactly who it is I look like, but sadly it's never a celebrity. Very often it's a relative. I mentioned that to my husband and he said "Yeah, but this is the first time I've ever seen it happen".

@Icegoddess I have been told on several occasions that I resemble Sandra Bullock. My niece favors me, and I can definatley see she does. I think I did more so when I was her age. Either way, I will take it. LOL

I get that a lot too. A few times I've seen someone who makes me look twice because she looks like me ![]()

@Icegoddess Maybe they are using it as an excuse to stop and talk to you because, come on, you are very beautiful.
You rock, Helen.......lol. ![]()

@Icegoddess Funny you would post this. I must resemble a nurse that works at our local hospital. I was shopping...and a couple approached me to say they would see me next week when they have their doctor's appointment. I explained that I don't work there ...and they said that their nurse was my exact "double".
This is not the first time it has happened. When I had an appointment of my own...I was walking down the hospital hall...and a woman waved and said see you soon nurse Sherry. Well...my name is not Sherry...and I am not a nurse. 🤷🏻♀️
They say that everyone has a twin somewhere. Apparently mine is at the hospital. 😊

I find this so interesting! My son said he saw my doppleganger on a train in Chicago - she was speaking French! I always wanted to learn French.

I'm the opposite, I'm often mistaken, thinking someone is someone else. Because I'm aware of my disability, I wait for the other person to say hello first.

I've never been mistaken for someone, but people always tell me I look familiar to them.
I moved about 500 miles from my previous home, heard it there and now I hear it here.
I've been told several times I look like an actress. But she's a B actress, maybe even a C actress. ![]()
