I'm  related to Nancy Hanks Lincoln, Abe's mom, on my maternal grandmother's side.  I used to wonder if Tom Hanks was a descendant of Nancy Hanks, and sure enough I heard him mention that he was in an interview a few years back. I suppose that makes Tom a distant cousin of mine.

I have some relatives that sing in Southern Gospel Quartets.  If you follow that genre of music then you'd know them, or at least the groups they are in.

I imagine most people have such persons in their lineage if they look hard enough. I am a direct descendant of a signer of the Constitution and also closely related to FDR and his mother through a line directly back to 1630s New England.
