Inflation Forces Dollar Tree to "Break the Buck"

Just read today, due to inflation some items will now be $1.25 or $1.50.  Guess it was bound to happen as the prices on just about everything has been on the rise!

I rarely go there, but my daughter does frequently and was bummed out about it.

I guess they'll add a plus sign and become the Dollar+ Tree.

Shopping there used to be so easy, knowing everything's a dollar.  Smiley Sad

The 99¢ Store has not changed their price *yet.*

That price was like a glass ceiling.  No way those prices could survive.

They should take a page from the book of consumer good giants: reduce the size and keep the price constant.

@Mz iMac

The 99¢ stores in my area have many items priced at $1.99 and $2.99. This started last year.

@deevaIn my area, The Dollar Store & The 99¢ Store have not changed their prices.  I've never seen a Dollar Tree store in my neck of the woods.
