Re: If you had the chance...

By all means go.  I went for 3 weeks a few years back and loved it.  Make sure you stay for a few days on either end too.  Then you can see things you miss on the tour.  You will be fine and can get around on your own.  I did and I was a single traveler.  And the food, oh the food....

Oh yes, I'd go.  It sounds wonderful.   Tell the"Defectors" that it's a good thing they aren't invited then.

I may have said this before-apologize. Years ago we were at a party and talking about traveling, etc. A gentleman said to me that he had told his wife he would go anywhere with her BUT he had to sleep in his own bed at night.

Re: If you had the chance...

No I would never go to China now, or any other any Communist DIctatorship Country anywhere!

Too many people arrested under false pretenses, never given any trial, or what is known as a fair trial.

Also many were/are imprisoned, tortured, and killed in these countries.

Free cruise or not, no way would I ever dream of even entertaining the thought to go to Communist China, or elsewhere where a Communist Regime, DIctator, or the like reside.

if you had the opportunity to take a two week river cruise on the Yanktze River in China and visit Beijing and Shanghai, would you not go?  Just curious.

I would actually love to go! Smiley Happy

I have always wanted to travel to Asia. I think that it would be a lot of fun, and I would go if I had the opportunity to do it! Smiley Happy
