If I have one more doctor pester me...

...I'm going to run screaming down the street with my hair on fire.

(And I'll be there's people on this board who can identify with this feeling.)

I have a LOT of medical "issues" and that means a primary care doctor and more specialists than you can shake a stick at.

One wanted me to notify her if a certain situation happened; I did, 3 times last week and never heard back from her. Her aide called me this morning and we got it settled but I let it be known (annoyed but polite) that I'm not calling my doctor for FUN but because she told me to...etc., etc.

Even my cat's vet is getting in on the act! we're trying to get Missy on a special diet; we need to check the ingredients in her food, etc. etc. etc., and I'm about ready to ... well, I don't know but my patience is wearing paper thin.

I thank God every day that neither DH nor I have any medical issues (at least none that we're aware of!!) Have no desire to get involved with the medical profession unless it's a matter of life or death.

@GoneButNotForgotten    Keep in mind that your doctors are most likely a whole lot busier than you are and they have many patients calling them.  There is a critical shortage of doctors in many areas.

I understand your frustration with doctors not calling back.  I have experienced this also.  I wouldn't be too hard on them though.  Whether or not one is in good health, there will always be a need for a doctor at some point.

I hope your issues are addressed and resolved.

Is that the same doctor who you said was driving you crazy, and that you were going to try to "shop around" and see if there's a doctor that you are more compatible with?

I don't understand. Isn't it better to have a doctor keep in touch rather than one that doesn't follow up?

This is unacceptable, and I'm sorry you are dealing with this.  Doctors need to follow up with their patients. Our lives are in their hands, and they need to be available.  It is part of their job.  It doesn't matter if there is a shortage or that they are busy.  You are paying them for their care, not to be ignored.

I only go to doctors when I absolutely have to.IMO they are running a business & care more about their profits than my health.Except for my husbands oncologist I haven't met one in a long time who cared about his/her patient more than their  bottom line.

@NicksmomESQ Too bad you don't know my surgeon. He has taken care of me for various things since he did my cancer surgery in 2017. He is caring, kind and very inolved with his patients. I say the same about my oncologist. I wouldn't trade either of them for a million bucks! I do not believe all docs are in it for "profits."
