I will no longer shop at JCP

I ordered a pair of sandals from JCPenney and had them shipped to the store.  They held my shoes until July 20.  As of Monday I had no credit.  I called Customer Service to get a recorded message saying that my call will be answered in 72 minutes..  That was one call, the other recorded messages were 32 minutes and 40 minutes.  I finally had to drive over to the store.  To make a long story short I was told my order was cancelled but I never received an email.  Never again will I shop at this store.  If you cannot get a hold of CS and there are no emails to tell you the status, I don't have time for the stress.  Unbelievable.  19 days to receive a credit.  When I got home the credit actually came through today on my charge account. That's why Customer Service is so important. Cat Mad

I didn't shop there and I worked there.  Well, I worked part-time at a catalog call center which is now closed.  It was a fun job but I didn't care for their merchandise.

Re: I will no longer shop at JCP

I assume by 72, 32 and 40 you mean wait time?  Did they not give you the option to leave your number for a callback?

And are you saying they never told you your shoes had arrived at the store?  And that they cancelled them, when you didn't pick them up? Not sure what the whole story is.

If they held them for a specified length of time and then cancelled, I can understand why the credit would have seemed to take 19 days.

But, as I said on your other thread, the fact that you didn't get an email from either JCPenney or QVC, would have me checking the settings on my email account.  (And my spam folder, although anything there would probably be gone by now.)

Re: I will no longer shop at JCP

At various times I've boycotted Penney's and Macy's for horrid service.

But when my cousin got married and registered at Macy's I went back to make a purchase and had outstanding service.

Same with Penney's when I needed some blinds - great service in the window coverings department.

Just seems like customer service is wavy at times.

@Venezia,   Yes, I meant minutes and there was no leaving a message.  Totally ridiculous.  The idiots told me today that the order was cancelled July 11 which made no sense at all.  I did received an email saying I can p/u until July 20  I decided I did not want them.  I should have gone to the store picked them up and returned them immediately.  Okay, so they cancelled on July 11 so that is 29 days to receive the credit.  That is only item purchased from JCP and definitely that last.

@Venezia,   I always receive QVC's confirmation emails and did receive confirmation from JCP.

Re: I will no longer shop at JCP

I had only one problem with JCP a year or so ago.  It was a delivery issue that JCP and UPS had to deal with ... I never got what I ordered.

Delay, delay.... I finally went on Facebook and commented on their page.  It took about two hours to get my refund credited.

I had a similar issue with Genii bras ... it took comments on both Facebook and Twitter to get my refund for something that they never shipped.

Re: I will no longer shop at JCP

@Katcat1  I agree 100%.  I placed an online order with a major women's clothing store to be delivered to the local mall.  I got one email stating part of my order had arrived.  I was then sent out of town for one week for work and one week later I arrive at the store to pick up my order (which was due to arrive in multiple shipments) and they tell me that it was shipped back in 3 separate packages since I never picked it up.  No notification that the items were being shipped back - if I had received a notification, I could have called and told them when I would be able to pick them up.  And the entire order was paid for in advance.

Well, I had to call about a dozen times to get credit for those items that I never received and was in possession of the store and their warehouse for the entire time.   It took just over 6 weeks from the time that their warehouse person signed for the return package after it was refunded.  I had to jump through hoops to get the tracking info, and then explain to multiple supervisors that they had the packages, not me.

I can't understand why the credit wouldn't be put on my account as soon as the store ships it back, since I never had possession or even touched the shipment.  Very poor customer service and due to this lack of service, I hesitant to make further purchases from them.

@Katcat1- Okay, but on this thread and the one about QVC ("This is Cute"), you said you didn't receive a cancellation email from either company.  That's what would make me check on things.

It seems, if you receive confirmation emails, the cancellation emails should be getting through, too.  Very odd.
