Among Friends

My mom died this week. I have no idea how to be without her.  She was my mom, best friend, confidant.  I need her.  Dad needs her.  Dad is beyond heartbroken.  All 7 of us kids are lost.  

We had a private viewing yesterday.  The funeral home showed us the video they made.  Our whole family watched, cried, laughed at some of the pictures.  It was good to see but oh so hard to leave Mom there.

We're lost.

I am so sorry for those of you ,that have lost someone dear. It always hurts now mater when it happens

But to suffer a loss like this, around the holidays ,is just all the more unbearable

So sorry.  I will call my BFof 56 years today.  At our age it could happen anytime.

I am so sorry for all the losses suffered. Try to take each day, each moment if need be, piece by piece. I’m learning that myself. My husband was diagnosed with early stage Alzheimer’s, my 95 year old mother has had a series of mini-strokes, and I am having knee replacement surgery at the end of the month. I pray that nothing happens during my recuperation.

@Desert Lily,   Loss for loved ones is difficult but you will go through your grieving period and then have many memories to cherish.  I think about my parents all the time and miss them terribly but they did leave me with my childhood and adult memories.  I was fortunate that I had wonderful parents.  So sorry for your losses.
