Maybe those people like in Message 7 have secret ways of dealing with how they can eat. Throwing it up, taking laxatives, water pills. Getting lipo, etc.

It does make me wonder about metabolism. I've always been the heavy one in my family. I've seen families where everyone is obese, but in our case, we had small, medium and large people.

All the time. It is one of the very few things I am jealous of along with great fit bodies without doing exercise.

I'm only guessing that the percentage of people who eat out of the home is much greater now than, say, fifty-seventy five years ago. I don't think that most people in those days had the spendable cash funds (no credit cards, etc.). Just a guess. .......................................................................................p.s. Household food items were very basic way back then. Also, not as many grocery store aisles filled with 'this and that' foods. Just the basics, more or less.

She does not have an eating disorder. She looks beautiful and is quite healthy. We are in out late 60's. She just loves to eat and she is a superb cook.

And I'm pretty content with what I eat & what I look like.
Not something I think about
I also don't give it much thought.
One of my closest friends is very thin. She eats whatever she wants, and she really loves ice cream, pastries, etc. She's actually too thin, and it upsets her when she sees her weight drop or stay the same because she worries that it's not healthy and she hates the way she looks. No matter what she eats, she doesn't gain weight. I don't see any reason to be jealous of that.
Being thin and able to eat whatever I want has never been a goal of mine. I care more about being healthy, and people of all weights can have weight-related issues, so I'm jealous of no one.

I'm about to turn 31 next month and fortunately I'm still like that. I think most of it is genetic. Both my parents are thin.
I can eat anything and stay thin. I think the trick is that I have a really fast metabolism. I eat more than my husband and when we do eat, I digest it much faster. I need a snack before bed so I don't have trouble sleeping.
The second trick is that I have no cravings. I don't have the urge to eat anything other than 3 meals a day and the granola bar before bed. I don't have a sweet tooth, I don't drink soda, and no candy etc. I don't even think about it.
Another reason I attribute it to is being a fidgety person. I'm always getting up and going to get this or that or just moving my leg etc. I'm just a nervous person and I'm always moving about. That alone burns a lot of calories.
I'm exercising more now since I was pregnant but had a miscarriage. All the weight was in my belly. I can't really take credit for none of this because honestly I don't have to exercise to maintain my weight.
I was made fun of growing up for being tall and skinny. I'm happy that at least now I have curves.

@Pook wrote:That used to be me. I ate and ate and stayed a size 7. I was really active but still am very active and work out daily in addition to my 3 mile walks with my dog. Once I hit perimenopause that all changed. I now eat way less - probably about 1/8 of what I used to eat. Probably if I would eat boring I could loose a lot of weight but I just won't do that as I like good food too much! Many doctors have told me that even though according to those "charts" I am way overweight and borderline obese I am very fit and muscular and not to worry about it. I actually think it's worse having been able to eat anything I want to now not be able to.
Just curious how can you be way overweight and borderline obese and be fit. I find this statement to be odd.

I heard that it is better to eat small meals rather than three meals. Apparently, it is better for your digestion and metabolism.
