Haven't received an invitation to dinner in years! This woman lives down in the part of my neighborhood that has very beautiful large homes sitting on 3 acres. She has been very kind to me over the past couple of years since she moved in. Unfortunately, she invited a woman who lives across the street from her that is a very odd woman - one day she'll speak to you, the next day she won't. I'm kind of hoping that woman turns down the invitation so it won't be awkward. But I'm planning on going and having a great time regardless - grilled chicken and salad and wine - who can beat that? I'm really anxious to see the inside of her home. I think I'll pick up a bottle of wine as a host gift.

You wait for people to say hello to you first...lol I'm laughing because that woman is probably thinking the same thing about you. Sometimes she speaks, sometimes she doesn't....lol Just take your wine and go and have a great time and don't wait for the other lady to speak first, you can say hello to her first.

Sounds fun. Hope you have a good time.
We were invited to friends for cookout 4th of July. When we got there I found out her neighbor & DH were also coming. We have never met them. They were really nice people. She was from Malta & got up to do the dishes when we finished eating. She rinsed all the plates in the sink on the side without the garbage disposal. Guess things are different in Malta. My best friend said her DH would have to remove the trap to remove the food debris. LOL!!! She reminded me of myself. DH said I thought I would never meet another woman that acts like my wife. We all started laughing. The 2 of us are so much alike.

Very nice of her to invite you and I am sure it will be a fun and pleasant evening. If the odd lady is there just act like you have never met her and just chat away. It will really be shocking for her and you will have a great time by not letting her bother you at all. LOL
