Do you happen to have a very very old hardware store in your town?  First house I bought all the homes in the community were built by one company using cheap parts.  None of the hardware stores carried any replacement parts but even decades later there was and still is only one hardware store in the area that MAY still have old parts.  

 

I moved about 35 miles away to another area where, once again, there was a 60 year old family owned hardware store that still had lots of things you will never find in a Lowes or Home Depot type chain store.

Sorry bailysue, times have been simpler.  Keep looking for that spring, you will find it.  I still buy disposable camras  Smiley Wink. Good luck precious!
