@Luvsmyfam Sounds like you may have a bad pinched nerve or even nerve damage. Please see your dr about this as soon as you can. I'm not trying to scare you. This won't kill you, but sure can make life unbearable. đź’ťđź’•

@Luvsmyfam That does sound like a pinched nerve. Maybe some over the counter pain reliever or even Voltaren gel could help. Hope you feel better!

@Luvsmyfam Since I broke my shoulder in early December and surgery 2 days later I have not had a full nights sleep.
After surgery and up to about 3 weeks ago my arm was still giving me discomfort and very difficult to get comfortable at night. I still have discomfort but it is getting better...my physical therapist gave me a light compression sleeve to wear, it was for swelling but I also think it has helped with the discomfort at night, although I stlll have trouble sleeping.
I can only sleep on one side an if my elbow is in a position to long, it hurts and wakes me up.
I am not sure what the answer is except 'this to shall pass'....it just takes time. You should message the doctor (end of Feb for your appointment is a ways off) and ask for either more effective meds or something to help you sleep. I found that Tylenol X strength helped my pain.
It is irritating...I probably got 3-4 hours of sleep last night....and I try to stay busy during the day and I rarely nap.

@Mom2Dogs Have you tried sleeping in a comfortable recliner? The pressure points are different. When I cannot sleep in bed because of back issues, I move to the recliner. I keep my head slightly elevated instead of lying flat. My recliner is in the bedroom so it is an easy transition.

Sorry to hear your wrist isn't healing smoothly. Check in with your MD to see what might help.

That sounds like a great idea.

Sounds like you likely may have some nerve involvement. Call your doctor-

@On It Thanks for the suggestion but my right arm is the one I injured and need to use that arm to put the foot bed up on the recliner so I can lay back.
I sure hope my body does not have a sleep memory, meaning once I recover I hope I get back into a normal pattern.....this not sleeping is getting old.
I try to read, watch TV, nothing works.

@Mom2Dogs Oh, dear! Time will heal your shoulder, but hopefully you will sleep when the healing is complete.
I am adding this idea. Once you are healed, try sleeping on your normal schedule. If that does not work, stay out of bed until well past your normal bedtime. Going to bed much later should break the wake-up timing. I have had to do this more than once.
