I Never Saw One Back in the Day

While we were watching the crew of "The Lost Bus" this pulled into the parking lot where we were sitting. The driver was welcomed by some of the crew. It had some years, but the vibe was still there.

How fun!

Even before I saw it, I thought of the Who song, "Magic Bus."  What else?

A good friend of mine had a VW repair shop and every now and then one of these babies would come in for something.

He's gone now, but thinking of him and these old vans makes me happy.  A lifetime ago.

Brings back a memory for me. We had a red one in the 70s. It made a funny putt putt sound when running. Our three girls were young maybe 9 thru 12. We took them to the drive-in to see Star Wars in that bus. Cute.

One of my co-workers and I had a ride with a man who owned one of these things, on a trip from Houston to Ft. Worth.  It was Spring with a strong cross wind buffering what was essentially a box.  We  both got so nauseated with car sickness we thought we'd die.  You'd never get me in another one.

One of the guys I dated in HS had an old beat-up version of this van.

My father used to have fits because it leaked oil in our driveway. Dad also insisted it ticked like a timebomb. Smiley Wink

Went to sleepaway camp in 1968 and we indeed had a magic bus
