I'm needing some ideas for putting together a gift basket for a friend that just had surgery and is recuperating. It's from a small group of us and many times we will provide meals; however her family has already taken care of that. Help.........

A book your friend would enjoy, lotion/nice soaps, warm socks(with non-skid backing), chocolate(or some other appropriate treat), teas. I tend to go the comfort route with get well collections🙂.

My friend made a similar basket for me recently after my surgery. I loved it. She included lotion, lifesavers, baby wipes, a flashlight, journal, candles, face wipes, a nightgown, several snacks in the to go cups that were so convenient to open and close, an ice/heat pack, tissues, Gatorade, ginger chews and chocolate bars. I was non-weight bearing for 6-8 weeks and the basket was a blessing, how nice of you to think of your friend.

All the suggestions are excellent & I'll add dry shampoo...it was so helpful when I was recuperating.

In addition to candles, lotions, maybe a gift card for itunes or amazon if she has an ipad or kindle to read or watch movies, a bamboo plant (lucky and healing), crystal quartz or other healing gems, if into that stuff, Beekman wipes (she can use them all over isntead of the usual ones that will remind her she's not well), organic chicken soup and , protein powder and a greens mixture and ginger ale, anything she can eat that she loves.

Also a magazine. I find those fashion magazines like "O" Vogue, etc are fun to look at but too much money to spend on myself, so I see them as a luxuary.

How about some nice fresh fruit,a cute bed jacket or slippers, lots of visits or offers to pick up things when she needs them....you can make coupons for that and include them.

I ordered the mos delicious olive oil and vinegar from a family brand in Washington, PA.
Makripodis (From Crete) sold on a farm out of Washington PA ....and sold at gourmet boutiques in that area.
I ordered both the vinegar and the oil...never tasted anything like it.
Just an idea...

I think either some Josie Maren body butters or Philosophy lotions might be nice.
