How will you celebrate Valentines Day?

We've done the crowded resturants when we were younger.

This year we're going to make a fresh seafood platter!  We may have snow to go with it!

Nothing special going on here.  It's going to be really cold.  Not planning on leaving the house.

Re: How will you celebrate Valentines Day?

My husband and I do not like crowds so we had our VDay today, we had lunch at our favorite Chinese place. I'm still expecting a card on the big day though.

We don't make any big plans for the day....I told my dh I'd buy him a dairy queen blizzard for valentines day....he's happy!

It's going to be in the mid 80's here and we're going to all decked out in shorts and sandals and go to the Renaissance Festival and grab a turkey leg.

Re: How will you celebrate Valentines Day?

Married almost 49 years so I have quite a collection of Valentine cards from DH.  Years ago we would pick a card we especially liked from the past and add a message to it before " giving " it again.

Nowadays, I do not even want that nor a restaurant meal just because it is Valentine's Day.  DH is a wonderful cook:  he loves to cook so we will have a special meal at home, much like what we have most nights.

I guess for us " every day is Valentine's Day "......it sure feels that way still !!!!!   No one else that I would rather be with and do nothing and not be bored !!!!

Re: How will you celebrate Valentines Day?

We used to go out for dinner when we were younger but now we do not like the crowds and wating around, so we will make a nice dinner at home.  DH bought me a lovely little vase of flowers from the store -- I was touched!  I haven't had flowers in eons!!!  We always exchange cards and some little thing -- maybe a bit of candy or something.  We always try to show each other how much we appreciate and care about each other every day.  But still, on these little holidays -- especially in the cold, bittler long winter -- it lifts you up to get a little card or something!!!

Re: How will you celebrate Valentines Day?

The same as the 39 ones before---prob doing housework, laundry and grocery shopping. I have a spouse of 40 years,  that doesn't acknowledge any special holidays, so don't even remember when they show up except when I check my calendar.  Poor me!!!
