You should not let them bother you .... if you think about it all of the ladies wear heals to appear taller.

@dex  I too could never understand substituting the word big for the word tall!  The word big says something else to most people.   I have a 5'9" daughter who grew up hearing that also!Woman Frustrated

That sounds weird.  You're height is average.  Perhaps you should stop hanging out with so many silly short women.

5'5".  My dad was 5'11" and Mom 5".  While I always felt 5'5" was OK, I would have liked to be an inch or two taller.  My sister is 5'2"; my brother is my height, but back issues are now affecting his height..

I was 5"7" in my young days and was considered a very tall girl back in the 50's and 60's.  But over the years I have lost over an inch and am now just a little over 5'5".

Not too long ago my son and I were talking about me playing basketball in high school.   He said "mom I can't imagine you playing basketball at your heighth."  Woman Wink

5'2

One time, while at a get-together at a neighbor's house, one of the guests had made a rude comment about how short I am.

I asked her how tall she is and she said 5'0. (she looked shorter) I told her I'm 5'2. I also said, "Don't you notice that I'm looking down at you?"

She's only 5'0 and she's making rude comments to other people who are short?? lol

She looked embarrassed, but didn't say anything. She then started talking with a person who was standing nearby. lol

Many years before that, someone told me that I was the shortest person they'd ever seen. My husband said that I should have told her, "You don't get out much, do you?"

Years ago my sister and i were at a mall.  Apparently she thought we were getting stared at quite a bit.  I'm 5 ft 1/2 inch and she was an inch taller. She turned to me and said, haven't these people ever seen midgets before?  LOL!

5'8 - I have 2 daughters - Older one is 5'10 and younger one is 5'4.  The younger one  has always longed to be taller.  I've always told her that more often than not - wonderful things come in small packages.

Thru the years I have been made to feel bad about my self and  have felt very self concious over how tall I am.  You would think that i am 9 feet tall the way some people have acted! I am 5'7" and yes most always I am taller than anyone else in my friends group and some family. But I dont feel I am outrageously tall lol!!  I always wished to be shorter but have tried to embrace my height lately.

@FlowerBear  I hover around 5’1” depending which doc office and which nurse is weighing & measuring. Some press that bar all the way to my head while others don’t want to mess the hair.

I was 5'10, but now I'm 5'9.  I have never liked being tall.  I don't like my legs at all, but think if I was to wear a higher heel it would help; however, I have never in my life worn a heel any higher than 1 - 1 1/2 inches.

I never felt cute or like a girly girl.  I always feel large and awkward.  My mom was 5'5 (which she said was tall for her generation), my dad was 6'0 and my brother is 6'4.

My husband was 5'8 when we got married, but I think he's now only about 5'6.  I have never danced  in my life with anyone.  I tried for a few seconds to dance with my husband, but I did not feel comfortable because of the difference in height.

I don't like my height, but so far I have been lucky with my health, so I guess I should not complain.

If I could of chose my own height, I think I would of been happy at 5'5.

I'm only 5'1.75".  And, I totally agree with you.  Just wanted to mention years ago had wanted to become a 'stewardess'; however, had to forget about that due to height restrictions - another area short people were discrimminated against!

@eddyandme  Never leave off that .75”....when we’re short, every little speck counts.

A friend of ours who is only 5'2" went on a river cruise down the amazon. She said she wanted to see the pygmies because they would all be smaller than her.
