I have only bought flowers a few times for myself.Love them.I like receiving them though.It"s surprising that I don"t think of it more often.

I always buy myself tulips in the spring and bouquets at the farmer's market in summer. I feel that treating oneself occassionally is vitally important.  We only live once, so don't put off these things.

I wait for DH to do that which usually means birthday, Valentines day, Christmas, anniversary, and sometimes "just because."    I love the "just because" since they are so unexpected.

Flowers just aren't my thing so I don't ever buy any for myself.  If they're given to me, I do like and appreciate them but it's just not something I spend money on for myself.

Never ever and so hate when they are bought for me.  Waste of money for something that does not last.  A friend of 22 years buys them for me every couple of years for my birthday and I give them to my DIL since she does love fresh flowers.

I don't buy flowers.  The closest, not flowers, though, are poinsettias that last from November to March.  

I cut flowers from the garden in the Spring and Summer.  Dry the peonies, hydrangeas, and roses before they start dropping their petals for arrangements in vases.
