@Drythe  Wise words!

Think she's making a mountain out of a mole hill.  The arborist sounds like a very busy man who is highly recommended. If in the midst of a job, he isn't able to text a potential client. Tree trimmers don't have that luxury when their work is so dangerous.

@SeaMaiden    I agree with @Regal Bee.  I consider tardiness rude, inconsiderate, arrogant and an indicator of a man's inability to efficiently operate a business.  I'd question how well he'd do the job and would he ever show up again if something, like clean up, needed more work.

If he respects her as a client (OBVIOUSLY he doesn't), he would have called her or texted her to say he was going to be LATE.

@SeaMaiden--oh seamaiden---I feel your pain---had a tree fall on my house and damage most of the upstairs and destroyed the roof trusses----that was just before Xmas. We did get the tree out of the house a few days later and got tarped up from the weather but have been looking for contractors to repair and remodel. A few have not shown up,  not called or emailed  and I always text or email or call them to find out wht is going on. so yes--called the inconsiderate jerks---your time is valuable too.

OMG-this happened to me today!

Went to the paint store on Saturday. Want to get on the list now for someone to clean and stain my small deck early spring. Manager recommended someone and gave me his card. Called today and left a message. He called me back promptly at noon. We agreed to meet at my house at 4. I texted him my address AND the time we were to meet. At 4:30 I sent him a text asking where he was. He called at 4:45. Did not apologize, made some excuse and expected me to accept it. He asked if he could come over now.

I told him it was not happening. The search for reasonable and reliable help continues...

@queendiva.   I have had really good luck with workers I've gotten from Angie's List

Still unacceptable. Wonder what was more impportant than a paying job?
