If you do it right the electric bills aren't so bad. We are on the budget plan and pay under $200 a month for a 2100 sq ft 2 story house all year long. We don't have a pool anymore (buried that money pit years ago).

Hit 119 degrees here yesterday in the Palm Springs area.  I've lived through many summers here when it was as high as 126, but thank goodness it only gets above 120 a few times each summer.  When it gets that hot, I stay in the AC and do chores around the house.  Too hot to go outside even for a few minutes.  Hits you in the face like a blast furnace as soon as you open the door.

@Meowingkitty, but there's a plus side! 

A few days ago I was given a beautiful wooden bench, but its long upholstered seat cushion was stained.

So, yesterday I soaked the whole pad through & through, down to the squishy foam, washed it & set it out to dry in the yard.

That thing was thoroughly dried w/in a few hours.

Well, in Illinois we are in the heat index of over a hundred and actual temp in the 90s

Even the Beagle doesn’t want to go out

Tomorrow around 97

A monsoon can’t come fast enough
