Sorry OP, but you sound as if you think the world is all about you. People have their own opinions on what to wear or what to buy. If I were to get offended everytime I saw someone I know, owning something that is similar to mine, I surely wouldn't be a happy person! TIme to center your thoughts on something else.

she may think you have great ideas.

Ignore it and live your own life- Maybe you are reading into her actions. Or if it isn’t just a coincidence, then She must admire your choices. What’s wrong with that. We many of us watch the stars and copy them... Isn’t that was fashion is?? Nothing good would come of calling her out. My own twin sister has this same problem, if she thinks others are ‘copying’ her. She gets testy and shows a very nasty side within her character. Let it go-

My sister has copied me often throughout the years. I have accepted it. What really drives me crazy is when she says "I was going to do that" when I mention doing something or planning something for our family. My husband and I just smile now because we know it is coming. Love her anyway.
My brother and sis-in-law copied the exterior of my house. Talk about being surprised and speechless when they showed me their house plans. I thought it was my own! My mom had me keep my mouth shut. Love them both too though it was a shocker.

The OP's pink bag gave her pleasure, it was something a bit different and even a signature accessory. Her SIL ruined it for her.
It happened to me in HS with a close friend so I know how she feels. Years later another friend had a baby girl, two months later her cousin had a baby girl as well and gave her baby the same name. My friend was not pleased nor was she flattered.

That sounds like quite a bit of copying, in my opinion.
I will admit, several years ago, my sister bought a Chevy Traverse. I loved that car. When me and my hubby went to trade our old vehicle in, I did buy a Chevy Traverse. It wasn't the same color as hers, and sister and I still have them. I still love it as much as I did 5 years ago.
I think that is the only thing I have ever copied.
But, op it sounds like your sis in law is trying to copy everything. I know its suppose be flattery, but when they copy 5 or 6 things I think its kind of creepy, honestly.

@occasionalrain Oh my goodness, I know the name thing is very personal. So heres another one. My husband loves a girls name, he always wanted it for his baby girl. Unfortunatley, he told his brother and sister in law and guess what now they named their daughter the same. You say ok maybe one time but no my friend just wait, my husband also shared his favorite boys name, guess what the same brother named his boy just that. We dont have kids yet but I had to let my husband know to stop sharing especially if its baby names. You know theres only certain names that mean a lot to you and for someone to know that and just pick your name after you've told them is kind of disrespectful in my opinion.

@AngelPuppy1 I know how you feel. Im so sorry about your engagement ring because THAT is very special and to have someone take that away is hurtful. I feel like so called "friends" who do that kind of stuff are not really your true friends. Theyre just wanna know what they can get out of you and how it benefits them. Im sorry but thats how I see it. True friends know that if its something sacred and personal to someone they woudnt get the same exact thing for themselves because it holds a different meaning to someone which is special. I know that someone mentioned here that I sound like the world revolves around me and that people follow stars all the time so its no big deal. Well, I'd like to inform you that for a lot of 'stars' and celebrities they NEED an audience and fans, they need sales and promote stuff exactly for that reason. They wear designer attire because designers need sales. Sales = money. more money more fame. And Im sure it bugs them too when people copy them about their own personal style but im sure they know thats what being a celebrity is all about. There are so many so many women out there who get surgeries just to look like a certain celebrity. I mean its nuts. Its as if they're not happy with themselves. That is a whole other deep psychological issue.

Flattered.

Omg, that is excessive and that would bug the heck out of me. I have two friends who copy me but not as much as your sil. It's more like they look to me for inspiration. So, if I buy something; you better believe, they will both go out and get something very similar. I think if I was younger, it would bother me but at 58, I just find it a tiny bit annoying.
