Re: How do you explain heartbreak?

@sarahpanda How do I explain heartbreak? When the connection between my heart and my soul is broken.

Can it repair? Yes. But it leaves a scar. And there is nothing you can do to hurry the process of grieving. Or healing. And you always run your emotional fingers over the scar and find it there.

My heart goes out to all of you who have lost someone you loved. It alters you and your life forever.

@Pink123    Thank you so much for your book suggestion...I will definitely read it - and maybe it can help others too.

And for all the loving comments from everyone, thank you so much, these are rough days for me (and him)  now and your love and prayers are palpable.

@sarahpanda   I am so sorry for what you are dealing with and what is to come.  I am guessing that person did not know what to say but it was really insensitive.  Take care.

Re: How do you explain heartbreak?

@sarahpanda  There is nothing I can say that will ease your heart or suffering.  I am so sorry this is happening and sorry someone said words that were not conforming, but hurtful to you and insenstitive.

I will pray that your husband passes peacefully and for you to find some comfort.

Re: How do you explain heartbreak?

@sarahpanda   My heart reaches out to yours. I've been where you are right now. No one could say the right thing, at that moment. I was in my own head, my own grief.

Although I loved them, the visitors who came were simply an intrusion. I asked to be alone at the final hours. I saw my beloved DH out by myself and I know it was the right thing to do for us. We were joined at the hip, from the time we met, 38 years prior, so it was a personal moment we promised each other.

I know the pain you are feeling right now. Remember that no one else really can. It's a different relationship. Even friends and family members, although deeply affected, don't have the same emotional impact. It's different for lover's.

Nothing will keep you from hurting now. It's a lengthy process of acceptance. It moved slow for me, but bits linger even years later, with triggers. When you love someone, they take a bit of your heart with them.

Hopefully, in time, you will work through the grieving process to a place of only remembering the joy and love, with a smile. But, it will take time. Some days, I'm not even there yet. Someone will say something that takes me back in time, but I try to get a grip,  because I know it's what my DH would have wanted.

I'm so sorry @sarahpanda .  I went through something similar but with my dad.  I didn't think I could make it through everything but somehow I did.  I know it's very different with a spouse though.

I sincerely hope you have others who will be able to support you during this difficult time.   I will keep you both in my prayers.  I hope you will return here if you ever need extra support.  🩷
