@hellie jo, same thing here....if it's frozen he thinks it lasts forever - it doesn't "go bad". Drives me nuts. I've learned to just quietly get rid of "stuff" that ends up in living forever in the freezer!

@jannabelle1I feel like you and I are going to the trash can at the same times.  He'll bring in this cut of pork he's going to do something with and it takes up space until it's an inch thick in ice.  He's still "going to cook it".  I just put it in the bottom of the kitchen garbage.  Bye Bye!!!Smiley Happy

Re: How Do You And Your DH's Tastes In Food Differ?

My husband is quite a guy....he will eat anything I put in front of him and he never complains. We both grew up quite poor, so I guess we are just happy with almost anything. Although....he loves liver and onions and you couldn’t get me to eat it for anything...he doesn’t like tomatoes, but loves ketchup, pasta sauce, etc. His favorite snack is to put ketchup on saltines....Nope....Nope...the only thing I like ketchup for is fries. But again, it goes back to the lean childhood days when there were no special snacks, so ketchup and saltines fit the bill.😊

Re: How Do You And Your DH's Tastes In Food Differ?

The big difference is that I don't eat beef and he loves his steaks and thick burgers and prime rib.  Which means that on the days that I cook or have meals delivered, there won't be any beef.  Also he loves a big breakfast with all the works and my idea of breakfast is coffee with an english muffin and some melon.  He'll make his big breakfasts on weekends or we'll go out but I can't join him in eating like that, I can't eat that much unhealthy food so I think, he doesn't enjoy it as much.  But, he realizes that my way is the healthier way since we are staring 60 in the face.

@ECBG

She likes variety way too much for me, even before I became a lacto-ovo vegetarian, back in the mid 70's. I can, and mostly do, eat the same foods most of the time. These, I know, to be the very best fuel for my body to be able to function at my high levels of intensive activities.

@jannabelle1 & @hellie jo - that's a man thing!

If it's in the fridge or freezer no matter how long or how old, it's all good!

We pretty much like the same things.

When we first met, he wasn't very experimental with his food.  Through the years, he likes many more things than he thought he would.

I use everything until the last drop.  He'll throw it out and open a new one.  That perplexes me.  LOL

I absolutely can't stand dried beans except kidney beans in chili.

I also can't tolerate hot (spicy) and have to watch some Mexican items.

Love med rare steaks and roasts.  I eat many more veggies that can be steamed and don't have to be fried.

Him, hot (spicy), kalamata olives, dried beans, sausages in soups and stews, okra and squash must be fried.

Hello again @ECBG. DH and I are like Jack Sprat and his wife. When I roast a whole chicken, he only wants the white meat while I go straight for the legs/thighs. He likes the ends of a bakery loaf of sour dough but I’ll pick out the soft middle of bread and leave crusts over. Broccoli? He’ll only eat the tops, but I like the stalks, too. Yes, he likes fried, spicy, too...not me. He also likes ice cream and anything cold. I’ve never liked ice cream (yep, you read it right) & prefer warm comfort foods. I could go on forever.

@ShanusI like the white meat of all poultry, he prefers the dark bit will eat white in chicken dishes.  Unfortunately, I never met many items made with sugar I didn't like.

This is the dessert I get from the Fresh Market. (For Christmas). OOOhhh!

Triple Delight Tuxedo Three layers of a marbled combination of double dutch chocolate cake and rich, moist white cake, topped with one layer of chocolate mousse filling and a second of sweet cream cheese filling. Finished with a milk chocolate ganache and white chocolate drizzle.

They sell it in 4" squares.  I get 3-4 slices out of a square.
