Yea, we're supposed to get rain too. I think sometime in the middle of the night tonight and then tomorrow. I'd hoped to get the yard work done before the rain and I have tomorrow as a vacation day. I'm not going to stress out about it - I'll have 3 days off in a row counting the weekend. I'm sure one of those days will work out for me.
I don't know if it's the cooler weather or the position of the sun in the early morning, it's starting to feel more like fall.

@Bird mama The weather here has been in the low/mid 70's, glorious, but in another week, it is supposed to go into the 80's and stay there until October, the 90's, for the most part, have dropped off the chart, THANK GOODNESS, was worrying about how I would manage with a month of 90's, unbearable without air conditioning.

Hello and TGIF :-)
It rained last night as forecasted. Since the yard was soggy, I had my coffee and grapenuts cereal while watching the Denim & Co show this morning. I then made a trip to Pet Supplies plus to pick up some bird food. I have one of their little reward card thingies and scored a sale of 25 lbs of wild bird food for $9. I bought 2 bags since I have so many fledglings in the yard now.
I then stopped into Kmart and had a great time. I bought some blouses and tops for work, a pair of Thom McCann shoes (I'm a shoe addict, sadly) and a couple of what I call play tops (casual). Also picked up some candy and laundry soap.
Right now I'm washing everything.

we didn't get a drop of rain. It clouded up but nothing happened. Natalie went outside to her swings and then she sat down in the grass and immediately got two stings. Oh boy. I put some ice on it. Her mother came home shortly after and we made a baking soda paste. I think they were sweat bees. Very small but of course they burned.
Tonight we are celebrating Erica's birthday. Since I got my inverted umbrella and they all laughed, each one has gotten one for their birthday. Erica's is a small pink one. It's been fun watching the companies add features like automatic close and opens. My favorites are still the ones with the pretty inside lining. My daughter hooked hers over her wrist while she was settling up a bill at the garage. Unfortunately she put it on the same wrist as her Apple Watch and it dialed 911. I said see, I knew you'd love it. Lol

Betty, can trust you will have a bit more activity around you than most. LOL. The inverted umbrella sounds like a hoot but certainly do not want it dialing on it's own. LOL.
Taking the little girl to church with me - prayers may be needed. She was not in a good mood last night which is super rare for her as she is usually an angel so we shall see. May be a short visit there - hope at least I get to hear Pastor Don's sermon - he is a master at it.
Have a mess in and outside this house - also hope it is not sweater weather so perhaps I can attend to some of that. Will try and get Davey to help with a bit. Speaking of Davey he has been in his new school for two days and really likes it?????!!!! They cannot take cell phones on the campus - must leave those and wallets and anything else in their pockets in the office. FINALLY a school does it right.
Have a good day one and all!

@Winifred Freddie I hope the good feelings that Davey has for his new school last a long time. Good luck with Church. When I went to Mass with Peppa (aka Fiona) last month, she fidgeted so much (not quite 2 years old) that I did a whole lotta walking with her. Lucky for me the Church I attended is historic and has multiple entrances. I may not have gotten the whole Mass but I did pick up bits and pieces depending on which entrance I happened to be passing with Peppa, lol.

@Winifred Is this a school he attends for kids that aren't making it in high school for whatever reason? It is probably smaller and maybe more attention is paid to the students.

It's quite cool here this morning. Supposed to warm up. Our kids don't start school for another week and, of course, the heat is supposed to be back.
We had to go to funeral home yesterday afternoon. Bills Grandpa died. He was in his 90s. My Granddaughter married into such a lovely fanilt. Both sides of it. We gathered up a quick hug from the twins. August is a mixed bag for us. We have lots of birthdays abd several deaths. Eight years ago, Kelly and Bill liost triplets. Two girls and a boy. It's ironic that their deaths happened on the day after their fathers birthday and on the day of their cousin's birth a year later.
Still nursing Merles ear. I don't like the looks of it. They took a swab when we were in last week so we should be getting those results back soon. I just hope they got it all and that it is just taking a while to heal.
We still haven't received any rain. They said it is to the west of us. Yards are starting to look distressed. My geranium and little petunias are thriving. So pretty.

Yes Mousiegirl - Davey has had a lot of problems in school past 2 plus years and he has made NO effort to change things. He was expelled from the regular high school early last year and sent to a continuation school. In the time there he did not get into fights or things like that but refused to do any school work AND pulled a couple other things which this past May got him booted out of the entire school district. They recommended he attend this school - in another city - it is a Community School and run by the County. Yep, very very small and very rigid but they do not just TELL him to keep his cell phone in his pocket, he has to leave it at the office - also his wallet or anything else. They also make them take off their shoes to make sure they have nothing in them. There is a therapist on the staff as well as a probation officer. In other words this school understands some kids cannot - for whatever reason - do things on their own so they take care of it for them. He rides three buses to get there - leaves here about 6:15 to catch the first bus at about 6:30 - he seems to fully enjoy it. I think he likes the discipline. I have some hope that perhaps this will work for him. The fact he has not complained about all the different buses and walking he has to do and seems to not mind at all the other rules - well everyone is forced at this point to follow the rules. LOL. If they get caught by not turning in their cell, wallet, etc - this would be hard to do but suspect it has been done, they have the right staff on board to turn it around one way or the other.
It is plumb COLD this morning - well cold to me but am sure the heat will appear as we normally have NO cold spells in August. LOL.
Leah who normally is an angel was NOT an angel yesterday - at church she was and left everyone falling in love with her. Couple hours later had a bit of a tantrum. Ahhhh kids, they keep you on their toes do they not? Have a great day one and all.

@Winifred Maybe Davey is beginning to feel a bit independent taking the buses, etc., here's hoping.
I'll say kids keep one on their toes, lol, I didn't stop running until DD left for college, lol. Now, I have two pups, one is a holy terror, has a mind of her own, and believe me, she keeps me on my old toes, LOL.
