My dad is 91 and has a PhD in History and 2 Masters degrees. He's lived through a lot and is always saying we're repeating history. 

We have congress people who put party over country, greed over justice,  fail to recognize they are repeating the 1930-1950 history, or flunked their GED twice and finally passed right before being elected. 

Some politicians keep cutting school funding or transfer funding from public schools to private schools.

And then some wonder why this country is falling into the stupid category.

BTW, I'm certainly not saying all people with GEDs are ignorant.

It made sense then, and it makes sense now.

JFK said that the ignorance of one voter in a democracy impairs the security of all. Just think about the dangers in the ignorance of thousands...or millions. We need to remember that freedom in a democracy requires responsibility to stay informed and engaged.
