If I had a surgeon suggest a surgery, I would listen to her.  Or get a second opinion if I had concerns.

 

If the hernia is indeed small it should just be a outpatient surgery.  Much better than waiting for a bigger problem.

Totally agree. Both of my Hernia surgeries were out patient. Was in and out in less than 4 hours. My doctor was able to do scope surgery. He wasn't sure because of scar tissue from my appendix surgery. Didn't know until I woke up. Yea!!

.My mother had an umbilical hernia for 25 years. Her doctor just took a watch and wait attitude with hers  When her hernia started bothering her a bit, she scheduled the surgery, My grandmother had one most of her life and never got hers fixed. Same for my uncle.

 

If it were me, I would not schedule an unnecessary procedure at this time amidst the pandemic. If the hernia isn't bothering you and it really is small, I don't know why you would need to hurry to do anything. But you need to get a hold of your doctor and talk about it with him.
